I have admired your knowledge and skill, when it comes to doctoring and A/V, for as long as i have been a member here. I dont usually see you participate in many "Steam Vent" threads, so im glad to see this thread by you. It shows me that you are human like the rest of us. Thanks!

Thank you for your kind words. I like to use the steam vent judiciously. This is after all a technical forum and not a political one. I would hate to be responsible for starting one of those political, or dare I say religious, flame wars. I didn't see much risk in this thread.

Thank you for your kind words. I like to use the steam vent judiciously. This is after all a technical forum and not a political one. I would hate to be responsible for starting one of those political, or dare I say religious, flame wars. I didn't see much risk in this thread.

I recently watched Pres Obama speak on the economy. He said some things that made me proud that he was elected. One thing that stuck out was when he said the people in this country need to put aside all the petty/small differences and get this nation back in the shape we need to be in. I took that to mean all political differences, racial differences, gender diff, and religious diff. I think he has some great ideas, I hope that he gets the support he needs for them to work, and I also hope that his ideas are indeed what will bring this nation back to what we have the potential to be. I dont have much money but the little i do have i would like to keep

He gives great speeches, but it is impossible to set aside differences without making compromises. Some of those compromises would be unacceptable in my mind. You can't set aside differences because they will always influence your decisions, thinking, etc. Peaceful Plurality is our best aim. Though in some views this is impossible. How can a person set aside who they are and still be a person? Just food for thought.

I hope this as well, but, the reality is that politics has been ingrained in much of us and certainly the crowd in DC. Such a drastic change is next to impossible to happen, dare say except perhaps a national catastrophe?

Thats what im hoping and praying dont happen. I dont think alot of people thats my age (35) realizes. A depression is a trrible thing. our population has grow drastically since the last one. If we have another it could be even worse than the first.

I used to listen to the stories my wifes PaPa told about the depression (he passed away at 92 years old 4 years back). There werent any steaks being eaten by the common folks. matter of fact he told me Opossum was real good when you could get them.
I sure dont wanna find out how hard times feel.
