Saw this on the news yesterday. Apparently this is becoming a sport in the UK so British Rail (I think) showed some real footage to warn people for the danger of doing this.

They must be awful bored to muck around like that. Personally, I would make it a point to do something better with my time than that. :D:D

I still remember a LIFE magazine article, I think it was early 90s, maybe even last 80s. Drunk guy hit by train, one arm severed and sent hundreds of feet away, and the other arm had the hand crushed. They found the severed arm, brought it and the person to the hospital. The doctor made a quick decision to take the hand off of the severed arm, and use it to replace the crushed hand.

The photos looked so weird! I can't find any images of it.

The doctor rewired the nerves in reverse, so that when he wanted to move the thumb, that's what moved, etc. Of course, the thumb is on the bottom.

Geez, what a weird story. Must have missed that one. So, do you recall where that happened? Lord, that had to be painful. It hurts me just trying to envision it. Poor guy-what in the heck was he doing in the first place? Oh well, I guess we all live and learn. Some, just do it a bit more painfully I suppose.:eek: Hope all is well Jost. Have a blessed evening.

Cheers,

Phil

Anyone who does something that completely idiotic deserves to have their shoe knocked off.

A buddy of mine rides the train to work every day and a couple of months back a kid got hit. The passengers saw the guesome remnants of the incident.

Yeah, a strange one indeed, Phil. I specifically remember a couple of photos, though I'm sure there were more. One showed him in front of the mirror, practicing buttoning up his shirt. There was a particularly strange/funny one where he and his doctor were sitting next to each other at a table. They both were resting their chins on their hand. That one was something else.

It sounds like something else. You know, I went to school with a guy that shot his trigger finger off in a hunting accident. He used to come up to me at school as say give me "four" as opposed to "five". It would freak me out because he only had (4) fingers.:eek: Every now and then, he would also ask for a "high four"............Lmao!!!! :p:eek::p
