Setting a 52xbr on the Stand

Has anyone had any experience with the SU - FL300L stand made by Sony for their 46 - 52 inch Bravia line? There are 2 knobs, a bit less than an inch in height, that you screw into the top of the stand, and then somehow you are supposed to manouver the TV over these knobs and then set it down and presumably there are corresponding holes in the base of the TV to engage these knobs. I guess the intent here is to form a more secure join between the stand and the TV. Have any of you used these knobs or do you merely set the TV on the stand and forget about it?
The reason that I'm going on about this somewhat arcane point is that I have very restricted access to the stand and given the difficulty of maneuvering a monster of a 52xbr4, it would be much simpler for me to merely slide the leading edge of the TV base on to the stand and then push it back to its final position as opposed to the precision handling required to make the knobs and the corresponding female portions in the base of the TV stand align properly.
Am I making too much of this issue? Do most of you simply set your TV's on a flat surface and leave it at that?

Thanks

John

Also, I find that sometimes posting a graphic helps immeasurably in getting a point or situation across. I tried this with some of my posting but found that NONE of my graphics came in under the ridiculously low 100KB limit that the forum now imposes. Why can't we, in this day and age of cheap memory, get a higher limit?

John, you can get an account at Photobucket or Flickr for free, upload images there, and then insert those images here. That's how a lot of folks here do it.

I agree that the 100KB limit can be restricting, but consider how many members this forum has - and it's free to all of us, so the admins are paying for the storage (through advertising, yes, but it's still a business).

EDIT: Ahhh, I just did the math. Okay, it isn't all that much memory that would be needed. My mistake.
