Ok, I have no idea what I am doing and none of you guys are joining in. You have forced me to get the manual out of the box. I guess I will read it and then post questions on a new thread.
If I can figure it out even a monkey like you should be able too.:p

You stand by for questions.

I am confused right out of the gate on connections. It seems like this sets a crossover of 80hz and you have to do some weird connection to bypass this?????

On the second screen you can just disable or adjust the crossover for whatever preset you want.

select the crossover, then click reset on the remote (you have to point the remote to the SMS-1) you should see everything say "BYPASS"

So then I can bypass the crossover and use the one in the AVR? Is this what I should do?

I haven't looked at the user manual yet, she has me watching a girl movie right now.

I can't seem to get any test tones to play unless I am doing the AUTO EQ. The manual seems to indicate that I should be able to do this.

Turned out to be an assignment issue. Fixed now but Wife in bed so I can't play with it. I will try again tomorrow.

I seem to be talking to myself......

Sorry I missed all this. I've been off line while I had the home network dismantled rewiring my rack. I put my SMS-1 back in the system and its working fine. I'll try to help you out wherever I can (just not tonight, it's late and past my bedtime).

Good article Mike.

I have run the "AUTO" and it sets everything very agressively. I have a really bad room issue it appears right at the crossover level. There is a 10dB suckout between 60 and 80Hz and I can't seem to get rid of it. I will play around with it more later

Thanks for the help guys. Let me know what info you need to help me more.

Ok, here is what I have so far. I am not certain what I am looking for except a pretty flat curve. Guide me through what steps I need to do next.

Right now it is pretty flat to 125hz and then drops off 10-12 from 125-200hz. To get it flat from 63-100 the EQ has to be boosted to +6.

If you hit the select button when the cursor is on the vol: location, it will bring up more options. You can adjust the Q and move the sliders across the frequency scale for more precise adjustment.

When I get it as flat as it is on the last graph, I don't have much bass. Checking it with a SPL it is about 10db down. If I run it level matched I get the first graph I posted where the high end falls way off.
