I think it will be the same in June as people haven't gotten off their butts yet. Whatever I have cable anyway so it really doesn't affect me.

There is one significant group of people this does effect positively aside from the coupon problem. A large majority of people in remote areas who don't/can't get cable are discovering that DTV transmissions are not as strong as analog ones. This means after the switch even if they were prepaird they wouldn't get a signal. Hell, I live in the middle of a city and can't get a signal via DTV with a nice tuner/antenna. It is a hardware issue that is beyond the control of the end user.

I'm sure that I'm in the minority here, but I watch over antenna and have an older TV. I have a couple of digital tuners, but nothing as simple as a converter box (my coupon expired last summer before I found one in stock that I liked). I was going to suck it up and buy one without a coupon, but I'm not going to cry that I get another four months of TV.

Another piece of the puzzle here is that our CBS station has no stated plan or date to provide a digital feed to my part of town (so once analog is gone, no CBS for me). I'm on the other side of the mountains from the main towers for Tucson, and the stations have repeater towers up here - but CBS apparently has no timeline to switch that repeater tower to digital.

I guess im lucky that i pick up all the southeast florida stations. Then agian i have 2 antennas. I enjoy the less compressed ota.

Just because the "Mandatory" date was pushed back to June 12th, doesn't mean Local stations can't/won't switch before. I know locally, most if not all stations are continuing with the Feb 17th switch over. Most have already moved ahead, doing away with the added expense of simulcasting.
