I still got caught.
My bride saw two identical charges for the Speaker Company book-shelves that had a $50 off coupon for Audioholic members.
She thought it was a mistake and stopped payment.
I couldn't help myself...they were on sale.:D
You either need to be paying the credit card bill, or you need to let your wife know what you are buying so that she can properly deal with it. Of course, she should have asked you about it before she stopped payment, and it might be a good idea to gently suggest that she do that the next time she thinks there is an error in the bill.

Women also have the right to use contraception, choose not to have sex, make logical/ethical decisions with their bodies prior to getting pregnant. Yes, it is their body, but why do they get to decide whether the human inside them lives or dies?

No one ever seems to look at all the choices that happened up until the pregnancy and ignores all of those facts.

I am not one to really get into these discussions because they usually deteriorate very quickly. I did feel that after reading this post that my .02 were worth being posted.

This is not a woman's right with her body issue, she has that right prior to conception. To me it is whether someone has the right to take another life out of convenience for one's self.

I can see it as an option for rape or incest but beyond that, one really needs to examine the choices they make.

Personal accountability and common sense, two things that have been aborted already in our country.

And like Rickster stated, why are we even involved with all of the problems here??

The abortion debate is raging on just about every forum I visit. Here is something to think about... (I copied this from our local Craigs' List)

Right, wrong, indifferent...the part that concerns me is the systematic dismantling of woman's rights. What do you think could happen to your rights as a woman, if you give away YOUR RIGHT to have an abortion? Taking away a woman's choice to be in control of her body and protect herself from future subjugation, allows the wheels of history to roll slowly backwards. What rights might they take away next? Do you like having the right to vote?

Not so many years ago, Muslim women thrived. They were educated, owned businesses, held jobs, and had the CHOICE to wear the burka. When religious extremists (Taliban) enforced their violent, no-tolerance version of government and installed a new theocratic ideal, one of the first things that went was woman's rights (not pointing fingers at you die-hard Christians or anything). How better to control a nation than to cripple their women with laws that silence their mouths and shroud their eyes? The creation of laws that take away woman’s rights silences half of society and dumbs-down the remaining half.

The last time making abortion illegal came up seriously in the news, I thought of our veiled neighbors in the East and considered, ‘If we are not vigilant, that could easily happen here.’ Young women today have a blind sense of entitlement. They often don't understand and, frankly take for granted, their rights. They have no concept of what the Woman's Right Movement was about nor how easily their privileged lifestyles could be ripped away from them. Who in the hell gives up their rights????? Nobody says you have to go have an abortion, but for goodness, maintain your right to have one!

Your rights as a woman are something we fought for and must continue fighting for. Giving in to sappy anti-abortion pleas is as good as trading in your voter’s registration card…or your right to travel alone…or your right to own property…or your right to hold a degree or a job…or your right to tell your husband to ‘piss-off!’

As a woman, you have only had the right to vote since 1920. Birth control was not approved by the Food and Drug Administration until 1960. In 1973, The Supreme Court established your RIGHT to have an abortion. This was re-affirmed by the Supreme Court in 1992.

All it takes to drive women to ruin and revert our society back to the stone-ages is the removal of your rights; a woman's choice to be in control of her destiny, as opposed to suffocating under the thumb of self-righteous, theocratic oppression.

Very well said!! Thanks for sharing. The things you brought out are usually overlooked in discussions like these.

Peace,

I'll keep it short and sweet.

1) Personally, I am against abortions unless the mother's well-being is in danger or rape was involved.

2) If abortions must be allowed, I don't want my tax dollars paying for them, either here or in other countries. Here, let her name and go after the baby daddy for the money. As for other countries. that's their problem, not ours. BTW, this has nothing to do with the spread of AIDS

3) If my tax dollars must be paid for something I find reprehensible, then the woman's tubes should be tied at the same time to prevent this happening again.

3.5) As for their "rights" to have babies in the future, screw 'em (pun intended) With rights come responsibilities, and preventing pregnancies is among them. If they really, really want a baby in the future, there are plenty of unwanted ones to choose from.

Yes but... The same ban on overseas abortion funding also prevented any overseas organizations that received funding from teaching or providing any sort of contraception beyond abstinence.

Are you implying that the US should be responsible for other countries contraception as well as abortions? I dont think there is much good to be said about that statement.

Why is it men assume most women make such a decision lightly?

True....I do kinda miss seeing natives wearing condoms on their heads, or shooting them like rubber bands.
How can the world exist without Federal funding.

Not necessarily I was replying to to annunaki's post where he said

Women also have the right to use contraception,
But if you take away the right to teach women about contraception then you are in essence tanking away their right to contraception and their right to choose.

They do have a right to use it, but since when is it our responsibility to provide them with the option to excersize it??? Education? All they need to do is look at a step by step diagram on the packaging? Not much education or inteligence is needed in such an instance.

I do not believe that the United States should be using our tax dollars to implement such programs in other countries when we have so many issues here. Perhaps their own government should step in to do something about the problem?

If they are going to throw around that type of cash for such purposes, think how many hungry or homeless they could feed, educate, or build homes for here??? (Not that I advocate giving things away either)

Throwing money at problems without definitive solutions in play before the money arrives will almost always doom a program to failure. Many programs in this country are band aids for issues rather than solutions to problems. This is why many social problems cost so much money and do nothing to fix issues or problems.
