Guess what sub I'm ordering tomorrow

The cabinet is no excuse. PE makes a suitable pre-made/pre-finished sealed cabinet that would work for an AXIS 15", and the poor PB Ultra does not stand an ice cube's odds in hell of outperforming an AXIS 15....

I couldn't imagine a sub with the weight of the Axis in a PE box with the single pane front and no bracing. Besides the fact I would have to make another amp purchase to power it to it's full potential.

How are my speakers coming along? Did the crossover and cables make it to your place?

And the winner is.......

After two weeks of mulling it over and narrowing it down to the Ultra and Conquest I've decided the Conquest was the one for me. With arguable the most output available of any commerical sub and capable of over 100db at 12hz ( in a 7500cu room) I hopefully will never have to ask "what if" after purchasing this sub.

So far customer service has been very responsive, waiting to here back from them atm on a couple more questions. I'll keep everyone informed of the ordering processes and delivery as it transpires.

Allargon was right to a degree, I'm an oddball and sometimes like going against the grain. Nothing like having something the size of a dishwasher in my living room.



For everyone that voted for the Ultra, you get a week long ban for being wrong. I forgot to put that in a disclaimer.

It's trivial to add in some bracing if it worries you.

The Conquest won't touch an AXIS at 12-15Hz range I wager.

The cabinets are done, including the back/front details. I have to coat the veneer with a few coats of finish, but it was too cold, even with the heater in the shed this weekend to apply anything and have it cure correctly. The active crossover for the LFE arrived a while back. I have to slap together the caster wheel bases and figure out the easiest tilt/angle adjustment control to use on them. It is critical they have tilt adjusted optimally for the listening position.

Knowing nothing of this sub before your post, I went over to the epik website to check it out. Holy crap dude! That is is one serious piece of equipment. I think it's bigger than the deepfreezer I have in my garage! That thing is gonna kick some serious ***. Enjoy!

It was really close though, if I were getting two subs I probably would have went with the Ultras. Wife quitting her job and having a kid now limits my discretionary funds.

Congrats on the sub! I wish I had the room for one, as that would be my choice. Chad is a very nice guy. I live 5 minutes from his shop and stopped over there one day unannounced and he was nice enough to bring me in and talk awhile. Chad knows his stuff! Karen is also very nice.
