Guess what sub I'm ordering tomorrow

Went 180 degrees and I'm not going the DIY route. Too many variables for me to deal with and no warranty. I think I'm going to be more than happy with either but I've made my decision.

I don't get it. The warranty is on the amp and you are not going to blow the driver (I have tried). Plus the money you save will easily replace one driver if needed.

Just reading between the lines here but I think Matt will go with the Ultra. If he is concerned about warranty and other issues, than you better buy SVS.

True, but I don't have a builder here that has proven reliable. I haven't heard back from the one I found on craigslist since the inital quote and the other guy I've talk to is asking way too much ($350 just for a sealed, unfinished MDF enclosure) Having to hire out the enclosure build really starts to dig into the DIY benefits.
