I knew I was replacing these fronts and center with a Paradigm CC-190 v6 and 2 Paradigm Mini Monitors v6 in Rosenut.
These are the old speakers and stands.

I looked at new stands but didn’t like the prices and quality that I saw.
So I came up with modifying my existing stands, these will be heavier and right at ear height in the sitting positions.

So I got busy with 2 24" 4X4 Redwood posts ,the sander and then some stain and a poly satin finish.

Before with 14” posts, total wt 3.3 pds ea

After with 24” posts ,now total wt 9.6 pds ea

The color came out close enough for me, not bad IMO.

The stands before weighed 3.3 pounds, and with these 4x4 redwood pieces they now weigh 9.6 pounds.

so! there ya have my new/old stands !

The stands and the speakers sure are sharp looking. I'm a big fan of pics and appreciate the effort it takes to get 'em posted. (Even if I do have to scroll all over to see 'em.) :)

I got the scroll wheel on my mouse to work for left and right after your last set of pics but I really wanted to hear what your thoughts were of the Mini-Monitors were compared to the 150's(?).

Very nice results you got there. The color is Ok, only thing missing is the texture from the speakers, but that would probably be overkill. They sure look a lot better (and are) than the original stands. Nice job:)

I have one of these 4x4 for my center channel, but as i'm going to change my center its going to help with the DIY for my new AV-rack. Reusability

That aslo means have to design a new center stand. I'm still thinking round wood with glass base.

Thanks for the pics.

Reduce, reuse, recycle! Good job. I like the new stands a lot more than the old.

I think I may be modding my stands now. I think my Sanus would look better with a couple pieces of 4x4 Intead of the usual way.

very nice stands. I would show you mine but my friend who designed them asked me not to post the picture yet.

Dude, I can't believe how nice those look, especially for just using a couple of pieces of crappy 4" x 4"!!! What did the material cost you, all of ten bucks?

Well done!

Good work - I never thought redwood 4x4's could look so nice! A great improvement over the old stands.
