Freedom of placement, all you need is AC power. In order to place my sub in the best possible location I've been looking for a wireless solution and came across this: SubCast by SoundCast ( http://www.soundcastsystems.com/products/subcast ). I'm going to order one and see what it will do, much easier to pick the "right" place in the room with something like this. Another possible solution is Audioengine's W1 ( http://www.audioengineusa.com/w1_home.php ). The gentleman I purchased my SVS from was using this and the sub sounded just as I does when hooked up directly to the receiver. So while this may not be for everyone I think it's worth a try so stay tuned....... :p:p

Let me know how that works. For 150 bucks I would give it a try for my sub.

Will do, just ordered the SubCast as I like the idea of a purpose built product. The Audioegine works as well but seems more like something that was adapted to sub-woofer use. Not a bad thing I know but the install on the SubCast looks really clean.

I had checked out one of SoundCast's products for my rear speakers, but I ended up running wires instead. Like P-Dawg, I look forward to reading your thoughts once you get a chance to check it out as I didn't run a wire for my sub.

Did you buy it directly from SoundCast, or from somewhere else?

I went direct from SoundCast. Looked all over the net using Yahoo, Google, Live Search, and SoundCast's AD list and could find no deal from anyone that was really better than the other. It's also a fairly new product so there doesn't seem to be anything in the used market. And that may be a pretty good indication that it works well because if it does work why would you be looking to get rid of it? This last statement might bight me in the back side if I don't like it for some reason  But if not I'm pretty sure I would just box it up and ship it back to SoundCast.

And for the record price paid was $169.99.
