Hey all! I am having trouble picking out a surround sound package for I am very hasty when choosing things and can never accept just alright. It must be good or excellent.
Now I was looking at the pair of Jamo 506 set and the Jamo 606 set and could find the difference between the two besides the price! I was wondering if there would a difference if used mainly for music. Also the Klipsch Synergy-1 set relly interested me but they only run at 8ohm Ipmedance and my receiver is not capable of providing full potential power! I plan on getting a better yamaha in the near future the RX-V1900!

Thanks for you opinions guys.
Later!:)

In that case,...I'd keep looking. Speaker choices are pretty subjective, but I would not consider either of these packages to be anything other than just fair entry level speakers. I'm sure others would disagree,..... though if push came to shove, I'd likely pick the Jamo's.

Ok i guess i can do some more research, but today i also passed by one of my local Harvey Norman's and found the Accusound Theta series whiched sounded like it exploded with deep bass and i found that the sub had a very low frequency of 19Hz and that was within my price range but my budget cannot spill over $1,800 australian dollars so i am despretaly searching for something that will impress me with my budget, I have two weeks b4 my next pay and would like to use my time wisely to find pure satisfaction... Thanks

You receivers doesn't support 8 ohms? I didn't know such system existed.

I suggest you just be patient and take your time. Try everything. If you are spending that much you will want something that will last you years. And just can't be beat in your ears.

Don't be hasty with this kind of investment. Patience will render you a great reward.

Another option is look through classifieds and ebay. You can often find a great price on some great old speakers. Good luck mate.

When you do make a choice. Fight for it. Don't let others tell you there is something better. If they try. Argue with them. This will enstill loyalty and save you money.

For example I think buying anything other than Infinity Beta's for the fronts considering the bargain they are is just crazy and overspending. I mean they retailed for 3 times the price they are now and are just as good as that price. I think the diminishing returns of improvments makes them the best purchase for the money.

For surrounds I think Kef 2001.2 eggs, can't be beat on a price/performance rating. I would argue that improvements over them aren't really going to net you much more in the surround channels. I think the excess funds would be better spent on a subwoofer. Considering they offer full range sound, are easy to place. Offer a wide sound stage and are better looking than most other surrounds. Currently they are going for 50 percent of their original price, but i got 3 of mine from an angry ex-wife at an even lower price. Price/Performance is what I base all my purchases off of.
