Wow Onkyo 805 was the older model, predecessor to the 806 and yes it has better specs.

Most sources of the older 805s seem to have dried up or have gone up in price. Last week I found one at the bargain price of $550, but it is no longer avaialble from that supplier.

Amazon.com has some but they are somewhat pricey: one new at $749, one used at $650

It appears only a few refurbished units enter the system each week now. It's either that, or buy used from eBay.

Accessories4Less - apparently received one or some last week with a few more on their way. You should give them a call and see what they have to offer.

eCost - I e-mailed them last week and they informed me that they currently have a purchase order in place for more refurbished units. However, they didn't have any time-frames as to when the product would be available.

I just received mine from www.accessories4less.com. Sure, it's a factory refurbished one, but it's performing fantastic and I can't imagine it's worth buying a new one considering what I paid...like $550 for the unit, plus some extra depending on what shipping you choose. Customer service was good too. The remote came smashed up because UPS is a waltzing disaster, but they had Onkyo send me a new one within the week.
