Wireless PC to Receiver?

Is there a way to link my pc to my Onkyo receiver wirelessly...After getting the Totems, I can't listen to music on normal computer speakers anymore

Airport Express. It'll work with Mac or PC and isn't hard to set up. Uses 3.5mm stereo plug to RCA for analog and TosLink for digital, in one jack. Some TosLink come with the adaptor, don't don't.

Setup needs to be done with the Airport Express hardwired, but once that's done, wireless works great. Also, if you use one hardwired and another wireless, there are no delay issues to worry about. I used two in one house with common areas covered by both systems and it was great. If you use iTunes, you can turn it on and off from there.

Nope. The router is just the traffic cop. The Airport Extreme is another car at the intersection. If your router's ports are all being used, you'll need a switch, but they're cheap.

The Airport Express can also be used as a print server, but not that and for music at the same time, because it only has one ethernet port.

Unfortunately, Apple uses different names for things in networking, so it may be easier to set up by calling AppleCare. That's what I did and it was pretty painless.

Hi guys - I also use an Airport Express to link to my receiver - works like a charm (although I think you have to use iTunes).

I see in your sig that you have a PS3 - you could also set up a media server on your laptop and stream through that and you wouldn't need an Airport Express. There are a number of free media servers out there you can install on your laptop (I use MediaTomb on a Mac).

I was going to post the same question so I figured I'd piggyback on this..hope it's OK.

I had done some research on this topic and run across airport express but also similar items like..
squeezebox
Linksys Wireless-G Music Bridge
RCA RD900W Lyra Wireless

Is it your thoughts that Airport Express is preferrable to these?

My understanding with Airport Express is that I can sit at my laptop, control iTunes, and the music will come out from my speakers attached to my Pioneer 1015 receiver. Right?

Squeezebox is a lot more expensive than the Airport Express and is probably more similar to the Airport Extreme but your understanding of how you can use the Express is correct. You can also use two or more of them (one hard-wired and the other(s) wirelessly for more zones with no delay issues.
