I bought this remote on ebay. The remote doesn't seem to charge, but it does power up. For christmas I got another 880 from the wife. She didn't know I bought the first one on ebay...oops. So this remote is for sale as is. But I think it's just the battery not holding the charge, so it should be an easy fix. I would take $85 for it shipped. Any questions just send me a message. I'll try and add pics if I can fiqure it out.

does your new battery from the harmony your wife gave you work in your harmony from ebay?

Ok I tested the remote with the new one's battery and it works fine, so I'm selling this one as is. So you would just have to buy a 3.7 v rechargeable battery. I'll take $75. It would come with the software manual and charging station and usb cable.

New batteries are just $20 on ebay, so this is a good deal!

So it worked perfectly with a new battery? What about shipping, will you pay media mail?

Since I lowered the price you would have to cover shipping, I should have made that clear. Where would you need it shipped to?

It's still available! I can't believe no one has jumped at this. If it doesn't go by the end of the week I'll put it on ebay.

I have three 880's and the problem is the connection between the remote and the charging base station. A trick I found to get the remote to charge is to take a dremel hand hold device and use the mini sander. File down the back of the remote where the two or three gold prongs are (depending on model 880) then you will have a better connection allowing the remote to charge. I have gone nuts with all three of my 880's and I got to the point where I was gonna smash them with a hammer, when I did some research on the net (actually harmonys forums) and saw that people who filed down the plastic around the 2-3 connection plates found this solved their problem. So anyone willing to do 5 minutes of "surgery" will find they get a great deal and although the battery itself only lasts 2 years before not being able to hold a charge, I just called Harmony and they have sent me free battery replacements just for the asking. Personally I never should'e given up my 659 with the tactile buttons, because that never gave me any problems, but have found after alterations that the 880 is still a good remote.

I would like to have the 880, but after owning a harmony One, I'm not sure I could use any other remote if I needed to get another universal remote.
