Hello, I am new here and looking for some tips on headphones.

I am in the market for a good pair of headphones since my old KOSS broke down after 9 years of use.

My budget is about 100$. I've looked at the Sony MDR-V6.
What I want is, of course, bang for the buck.

Any help would be great and I look forward to great discussions in this forum.

I like the Grado SR-60s which are about $69 everywhere.

The 7506's blow the V-600 away without a doubt.
Protip: The MDR-V6 and MDR-7506 are the same headphone. One is marketed toward DJs and the other toward Professional studio recording (the MDR-7506). I know nothing about the MDR-V600, it appears to be a replacement for the MDR-V6, but it looks to be made of plastic.

Based on the recommendations on this forum I got the 7506. I use them to make and listen to music. They were supposed to be left at my home studio but I like them so much that I carry them everyday to work. Got to get a new pair :)

I think you should also try AKG K81 DJ. They are 5/5* for their price.

The Sony MDR-V6 / MDR-7506 gets a lot of love around here, even from folks who generally dislike Sony on principle.

I have the Grado SR-60 and the Sennheiser HD-280Pro. Both models are well regarded in this price range (as are the Grado SR-80s). The Grados are an open design, so they let most noise in and leak noise out to some degree. The Sennheiser are a sealed design, and block out noise - a lot.

The Grados generally sound better to me (although the Senns do have more bass extension), but the noise-blocking of the Senns is very nice.

The other recommendations are all promising, too.
