So you think that the 663 is sufficient for me now and somewhat future-proof?
It is hard to say what is sufficient for someone else who one does not know, but from what you say, it seems likely that the Yamaha would be an excellent choice for you. It has the audio formats for Blu-Ray, and is an excellent receiver for the money.
"Future-proof" is a difficult thing to define, as it depends upon what one will want to do in the future. But insofar as these kinds of things can be predicted, the Yamaha is about as future-proof as any receiver. You might want more HDMI inputs in the future, but you can buy an Oppo HDMI switch box that is supposed to be excellent for about $100. If you don't mind manual switching, you can get something for less in the future. Of course, if you don't ever get more sources, then you will probably never need more HDMI inputs.
One thing to consider whenever buying a surround receiver: Its value in the future will almost certainly plummet to next to nothing, because they are always coming out with improvements and new features. So whatever you buy, if you ever decide to upgrade, don't expect to get much if you try to sell it. You can think of a surround receiver the way you would a computer: It is not a financial investment, as it will become nearly worthless in a few years; it is something to buy when you need it, and not before, because in the future, you will be able to get something better for the same amount of money.
With that in mind, I would definitely recommend not spending more than what the Yamaha RX-V663 costs, unless you need something that it cannot do, or think you will very, very soon need something it will not do.
