Do you guys leave your receivers on 24/7?

Seriously, I have no life.
I used to leave my older amp on 24/7. I never really turned it off ever, and didnt have any problems. But i just bought a brand new amp, and dont want to take any chances.
Do you guys leave your receivers running all night, or do you turn it off when not in use?
Why would you want to waste that much money? If you're off the grid or independently wealthy, congrats, but otherwise, it's not going to do any good to leave it on.

I also meant standby when I said "off".
Saying that would have helped. Standby is 'off but able to receive commands', which draws very little. Off, is OFF.

The argument from the engineering types has always been that the power surges that happen when equipment is started up and shut down are more harmful to the equipment than just leaving it on 100% of the time. There were tons of studies done with computers and monitors in the 90s that confirmed just leaving things on extended equipment life by significant amounts. Most audiophile thought subscribes to this belief (granted, not the best audience to ask for good sense).

I leave everything (receiver & players) on Stand-By.

I always place my AVR in standby when not in use. Onkyos get so hot I wouldn't want to leave it on 24/7.

Off (standby) when not in use. I know someone that leaves his power amp on 24/7 but I don't see the point. My Parasound is really old and still works like a champ.
