Hey, its been crazy holidays but I've finally been moving in to my new place. Here are some pictures of where I am at.

It's a loft, so everything is pretty open and I can't do a dedicated space. The construction is concrete and I don't have shared walls, but I still don't really crank it at home anyways.

My living space is going to have a Onkyo Pro preamp with a Crown XLS402 (450W x 2 at 4-ohms) powering M&K S-150s. The sub I haven't decided on but I have two Sunfire True Sub Signatures I'll probably put in there. Sharp 52" LCD, the rack is a Middle Atlantic. I got U-Verse setup today, so that's why you see stuff temp setup. ;) I'm waiting on my sidepanels and wheels for my Middle Atlantic rack.

Upstairs is my bedroom, I have some Dynaudios there now and I'll probably connect it to my studio setup as a source (I ran cat6 under the carpet along the walls for network, u-verse, speakers, etc) or do a mini system. Only problem is they are 4-ohm so I'd need an amp, but, no rush for that.

My mini studio is in the back... Bag End PM6 (active time-aligned) mains, M&K sub, Technics 1210s with a Vestax PCV-175 mixer, APC power equipment (ups for the computer and line regulators for the rest of the gear). No carts on these tables, but I use M44Gs from Shure usually (they are just in one of my record bags).

I need some studio monitor stands and this is all going to get cleaned up, but, here is where I'm at. ;)

Happy holidays and I'll keep ya guys updated. Thanks for all the advice on here!

Congratulations on your new place. I wish my stairway had your design and material. Very contemporary looking.

As others have said, all the important stuff looks to be in its place (and on the water.....awesome!!!!!).

Keep us posted on your progress.

Happy Holidays and it looks like you are already going to have a great New Year!!!!!

Thanks much for the comments guys, I'll keep taking pictures as I put stuff together.

Thanks! It would be further along now, but I'm waiting on parts for the rack that take a bit to get. Mainly the wheels that I thought came with the unit, once I have those I can start screwing everything in.

For about two weeks as I moved I was using only headphones:

Beyerdynamic DT770s

Beyerdynamic DT831s

Shure E530s (my newest headphones):

The Beyers are a bit too hard to drive for an iPod imo, but the Shure's are great for on airplanes. I was using those Bose noise cancelling headphones, and they worked great (although the sound quality was garbage), but I keep breaking them and Bose sends me a new pair but enough is enough. The Shure's are also a lot more compact to travel with (that hard case I took the picture on is a case for cartridges, not the headphones).

Thanks man! Here is a picture of the stairs. I haven't hung any art yet so the walls look/are bare.

Are your Infinity subs going to end up in one of your setups?

Looks like you have a nice view out that window.:D

I think the main setup is going to have a pair of Sunfire True Subwoofers Signatures I have. The Dyns I will run without subwoofers. The little studio I'm probably going to buy the Bag End ELF processor and a Bag End double 10" or single 10", right now it has a little M&K sub. In the future I'll probably buy Bag End subs and the ELF for the main system too. Even though I don't have shared walls and its concrete, I still have to be a bit careful with output. :)

I have Infinity Kappa Perfect 12" in my truck, but I don't really drive it much anymore (what I drive now has a Bose system hahaha).

Is that an apartment, condo, house...? Also location?
It's a two story loft in Miami Beach.

Very cool place Sensi. Cannot wait to see the place when you get it all done.

Nice preamp by the way. Is that an 885 or the 886? Did you ever decide what to do about the NAS device you were looking at?

Thanks, yeah I'll for sure keep up with the pictures.

It's the 885. This one I picked up mad cheap after the 886 was annouced, well under a grand. I couldn't find any difference between the 886 and the 885 either, other than THX Ultra 2... and I'm just using it for 2 (2.2) channel anyways.

I got so busy over the holidays I still haven't ordered a NAS device. I want to find a place to go look at them, or even a trusted online retailer with a good return policy in case the fans are too loud. If a rack mount one turns out to be unreasonable, I'll probably get something for my desk.

Ah, its cool. Those Infinity's are nice drivers, especially for the money.

Anyone have any recommendations of some monitor stands for my Bag Ends? I want them to be about the height those styrafoam things are holding them at. I looked at that Auralex stuff but it all puts them downhill or is offensively expensive for what it is.

Very nice layout Sensi. I did a double take when I saw that view from your window, heh... I thought it was a picture at first .

PS: Hey Adam, I'll raise your picture of the desert sand with one of 2ft of white pristine snow in my backyard:p:D:).

Today I mostly cleaned, nothing really interesting to take a picture of though. Next step is going to be wire management.

Getting a bit of production work done now (minus AH distractions haha)

usual suspects are:

http://www.racksandstands.com/
http://www.standsandmounts.com/

You can narrow down search by height as well.

congrats on a nice place, btw.

Thanks man, I'll check that out. As you can see I ended up going for the LCD. I like the natural light when I'm watching TV and I think that put me over the edge against the protector. Your help with the decision was really appreciated man.

Haha, yeah, the weather is really nice here but between work and the holidays I'm probably as pale as everyone up north. I need to go play outside this weekend.

I can't remember! I used advanced search, your handle, + keywords like "projector", or "lcd", and came up empty. Whatever I did say, you're welcome, and congrats on the new display! :D
