hello all! i wanted to share my new digs. i have only been here for a month so i havent worked the kinks out. i only have one room for myself but at least its big.
desk:
old fire cheif's desk
acer netbook
17" lcd monitor
yamaha R-9 stereo receiver
pioneer cassette deck used as a riser
bose 201

stereo/theater
yamaha htr-5740
pioneer pl-707 quarts direct drive tt
adcom crosscoil cartrige/stylus
jvc stereo reciever used for preamp
unmarked front channels??(free with my room)
any help would be nice, they have no logos anywhere and no covers
i keep the rest covered up
jbl 300W 10" sub
jensen center channel
sony floorstanders in the rear
toshiba 32" crt hdtv
phillips dvd
xbox
sega genesis
nintendo entertainment system
custom htpc f(not pictured) just moved in and havent had time.

when i have the time i am going to paint the tv stand black cause it looks silly like it is.
my next upgrade is naturally a projector, and then new front and center channel speakers.
i would have taken more pictures if my camera didnt die; i think my charger is still packed away.
these were taken when i first moved all of my things in.
my room used to house maybe 8 firefighters. it was built in 1905. my room was part of the sleeping quarters. the rest has been built into a kitchen/living room and two other bedrooms. the entire first floor is virtually unchanged and perfect for parties, shows, full court basketball or bicycle jousting.

this might be the best part of the room. a 25ft fire pole in my bedroom.
talk about an insurance nightmare!
i didnt quite get the size of the room photographed very well.
i estimate the room is 30'x20' but i havent measured. it has 10 doors 7 are closets. one leads to a stairway to the attic and a door to a flat rooftop area. one is the entrance and one is the fire pole. its kind of like a fun house!

Old houses are always a LOT of work and the rooms tend to be many and small. It looks like you have your work cut out for you.

I have no idea what speakers those are. Wish I could help.

I find the setup very interesting. Moving the smaller TV closer for better viewing is a great idea. Not something that wins WAF so I have to assume you are a bachelor. Your speaker placement is really good, considering the space constraints (left speaker too close to the side wall). I also like that your center channel is near ear height along with the other speakers.

Send us more photos as you get settled in. We would all be interested in your progress.

Happy New Year!!!

I love your quarters sir.

Those look like those Dynalab speakers. Dynalab are white van speakers.

HOLLY CRAP! a fire pole. Thats definetly one of the coolest things I've seen in a room.

I could never have one though, drunk disaster waiting to happen:cool:

thanks everyone. that sucks about my speakers, but they were free. maybe i should put them downstairs and beat them up at parties. the firepole is fun, but i usually keep it closed off. ive heard white van speakers can ruin your amp, and they dont sound very good i must say. my crappy sonys sound better.
thanks everyone!
