We travel a lot of traveling and having something to play our Ipods and CD players through for a roomfull of music is a necessity to me. I used to use a computer speaker system from my step-son's house in Texas, but it's too bulky to fit into a suitcase.

I've liked the concept of the Isongbook since it first hit the market, and I've heard it and it does sound quite good considering the size, but I've always balked at the $400 asking price. It's good, but not $400 worth of good.

But, for $100, guess what I bought myself for Christmas? :D

Heck, if we are going to talk about the coolest stuff for iPods...

This thing is totally awesome. It's a tinny little 3/4" (or smaller?) speaker, but it produces better than 'cel phone' quality audio in stereo via a USB charged battery and pivots out from behind the Nano.

The Nano is both protected with a built in 'clear' hard plastic case, and the speakers basically double the thickness of the Nano. Only works with 3G Nano - but it WORKS. It's especially cool when you move around a work space, or work on job sites where music is tough to come by and decent (or any) audio is a luxury - not a standard. If you have kids, it's really nice as a couple of kids videos or movies loaded onto the Nano means that you always have a distraction in hand (or pocket) for those long car trips or a 30 minute wait in line to see Santa.

Really?

Yep! In fact, just a few weeks ago my son got stuck in that 40 minute line and I turned on a recorded TV show. He was sitting on a bench with half a dozen kids surrounding the 2" screen and listening to the tiny speaker - all of them quietly enjoying their 'wait' in line.

iHome markets it, but apparently it is made elsewhere. It might also be available, at some point, for the iPhone/Touch, and the iPod.

Did you find this local, or order on-line? I couldn't find a link for the item with Sears on-line? Thanks, looks really nice, and Merry Christmas.
