How to connect turntable to 2.1 Speaker

Hi , I recently bought a used Technics SL-1200 turntable and wondering if I can connect this to my 2.1 Z4 Logitech speaker ?

the turntable has 2 RCA plug and ground wire, speaker has the 3.5 mm cable input... I tried using a phono preamp to connect both but there is no sound coming out from the speaker, while i can listen the output very faintly from my turntable...can somebody help me with this ? thanks in advance....fyi, im using a Stanton 505 cartridge. .

Ain't gonna happen.

The phono preamp is a good start but it's not nearly enough output to drive that computer speaker system. Remember, it's made to operate out of the low impedance speaker/headphone outputs of a computer, not a high impedance line-level source like a phono preamp.

You now need an amplifier or a receiver. Then you're gonna need a cord to adapt your speaker system to fitht amplifier, most likely an adapter cord to change the amp's 1/4" stereo headphone lack to a 1/8" stereo mini-jack, which is most likely what your speaker system uses.

Virtually any receiver or amp (stereo or multi-channel) made for home consumer use that has auxillary inputs and a headphone jack should do you well.

You might wantt to check thrift shops, garage sales, or even ebay for a nice vintage stereo unit. They probably even have built-in phono preamps.
