In the bare bones $1000 system suggestions on this site, it recomends the EMP ECA-4 Series 5.0 System. I've read some very outstanding reviews for the Klipsch Quintet III satellites that are very comperably priced. My question is, what is the reason to buy the EMP over the Klipsch? If there's a logical justification for it, I'll go for the recomended system...but to me it seems like the Quintets actually out perform and come from a more reputable name in sound.

Anybody wanna throw their 2 cents in?

I listened to the Klipsch Quintet III before I purchased the HTP-551T (without the sub) this past summer whenever they had their last sell. I know what I have isn't the satellites but my surrounds alone, IMO, walked all over the Quintet III. Whenever I heard the Quintets it was inside of a store and not a dedicated room so I'm sure that didn't help but at the prices that the EMP's are going for now, It's a no contest. I know thats not a "logical justification" but it's my two cents. My only regret is not holding off and waiting until the EF30's were back in stock, just because they have gotten such high praise.

more reputable name in sound.
EMP = RBH = more reputable name in sound (though opinions will vary).

I have no opinions on these particular models, but don't let the unfamiliarity of the "EMP" name deter you in the slightest.

I am a big Klipsch fan, but with the sales that AH is having on the differnt EMP systems, you would be insane not to go with one of the EMP systems.
EMP speakers are aesthetically stripped down versions of RBH speakers, making them pretty darn good speakers, even compared to Klipsch.

Bose, the most recognizable name in sound...

would you purchase a bose system? Probably not and you shouldnt.

Dont base your decision on what seems to be better marketed or what you think should sound better because of the logo....

Klipsch does make some good stuff in my opinion, but only in the reference line...

I personally have not heard the EMP stuff but have read tons of great reviews and am familiar with some of the RBH products... and they seem a like a good speaker..

I wouldnt pay 250 for the quintets... I've stood up for Klipsch a lot on this forum, but NEVER for the quintets... not a good speaker really... as far as build/driver quality, frequency response, and lack of accuracy put it in the low-fi category as far as i'm concerned and much better can be had for the money...
