I'm really wishing right now he lived a lot closer. Shipping is scaring me.
make sure you get a heavy box (freight) quote that ships in 5-7 business days (or the longest they have) ... those are cheaper.

for example AGSystems shipped me some big subwoofers on palletes ... they were pretty affordable.

I think that is what we are going to do. Put them on a pallet and box them up the best he can.

It's true, I'm am not fast, nor a commercial speaker manufacturer. I work on the stuff on my days off - and sometimes not then if it's raining - as I still have to haul my table saw outside to do cutting - just not enough room in the shed do cut large wood pieces down. In fact, Matt's speakers were supposed to be done by the beginning of October - and here I am now just finishing up the cabinetry. I get a big fat F for timely delivery... There is another customer that is also waiting... but Matt's speakers were due first and I have found it overwhelming to work on two projects simultaneously... and my little shed just does not have enough room to work on that much stuff with it all laying around at once.....

If I decide to take on projects after these are done.... well.... I will not build much myself. I'll farm out a lot of the work to a 3rd party --- for example -- have all of the parts CNC cut out and delivered to me. I may even likely have large modular parts pre-assembled by a cabinet shop. I'll try to limit my part to the design/engineering of the cabinet, crossover and driver selections and overall engineering, and final fit/assembly and quality control only. I simply do not have the facilities to efficiently do this stuff myself. Now, Matt's is sort of a modification -- but in the end-- it's really a complete new speaker system that has some original parts from an OEM speaker in it.... and due to the extensive modification I have done on these due to my OCD... I self defeated the modification benefit; mainly minimizing labor. BTW< that Primus 352 unit was like 30-40lbs each stock. Modified? It looks like my ultra-modified version is going to weigh in around 120-140lbs each. Just a FYI. As for shipping, the only safe way I see to do it is to put them a hardwood pallet with a large cushion layer and secondary suspension layer, then strapped down to it with lots of cushioning, then an outer framed ply layer to crate the units. I'll pack them assuming the freight service will try to damage them on purpose.....
