the YAMAHA HTR-5890 is one of the best receivers i've ever owned. just wanted to let y'all know. it has soo many options and it sounds killer. thanx zumbo for opening my eyes and ears to this killer amp!

Wondering how that worked-out for you. I think I now see why your threads are getting combined. No need to keep starting new threads about the same thing.

All AV receivers work the way we set yours up. You had a set-up issue. Glad to see it worked-out. You are #1 with me.

You need to run YPAO, and select SKIP in the menu for SIZE.

Just follow the instructions in the advanced operation section of your manual.

Select SKIP in the SIZE function.

Make sure there is NO noise in the room. No noise period. The microphone is very sensitive.

I make sure there is no-one home, no ac/heat on, no fans on, no cars passing, and I even wait for the refrigerator to quit running.

I also step as far away from the action as I can, without leaving the room.

If you are in the line of any speaker, leaving the room during each operation may be a good idea.
