I have Polk Audio RTi12 mains, a Yamaha RX-V2400 and a Yamaha DV-C6760 CD/DVD changer. My problem is when I play music at time there is fuzzy, static or no sound at all comming through my left front untill I play with the wire in the back of the Reciever. Then it comes alive, but the at times it will cut out again. BTW my wires are fairly new along with the Yamaha. Could it be the wire, the CD player or reciever. When I play DVDs it is fine.

Then that cable needs changing!
That's what I thought too, I also was thinking it could be the output terminal on the reciever. I guess I will have to start with the wire. Since it's the cheapest to replace

Yeah, before you even replace it, just swap the left and the right of the cable (at both ends -- into the receiver and output from the CD player).

If the problem is now on the right, it's the cable. If the problem remains on the left, it's probably something to do with the input to the receiver.

Are you using the same device for both CD and DVD playback? If so, are you using a different cable for DVD vs CD input? Perhaps analog output for CD listening and some type of digital output (either optical or coax) for DVDs? If not, I would expect the same problem in the left channel for both CD and DVD.

Good luck!
