$5 extra a month if you have direct. You get it in HD, along with four or five extra HD channels. Good concerts all the time.

I've tried watching AC/DC live...but that lead singer's vocal chords are punched. Too abrasive to listen too. Maybe this 8 year layoff has helped.....but he has no range what so ever.

Sure do miss Bon Scott. I'd like to find some good remastered to DVD concerts from the Scott years.

Cheers,
BT

Always been a die hard fan too. Bought the new "Black Ice" Cd about 2 weeks ago. I think the 8 year layoff did Johnson's voice some good, but his range IS very minimal now. As for the whole album, 3 or 4 good tracks IMHO. The rest of the songs all sound similar to each other. Again, this is IMHO.
My apologees to the OP for the semi-hijack. I myself have Cablevision(Optomun Online)where I live(Orange County, NY), and they don't offer the channel mentioned yet. :(:( Joe B.

I have seen three different AC/DC concerts on Palladia.

This one. They wasted too much time. I like a band to perform, not waste time.

Another one with Brian, again, they wasted time. They even kept a bass drum beat, nothing else, for about five minutes. Then, they went to commercial. I told my wife that was unacceptable, and I $#!t you not, when they came back on, it was still going. Boom, boom, boom.

The other one was with Bon. The band was better, they didn't waste time, but I prefer Brian.

I assume you are talking about the live DVD. If you are talking about the album...then....it may of been a very good comeback lp for a band with a new lead singer...but it doesn't touch Highway to Hell, or High voltage for that matter.

Is there a DVD out there from AC/DC with B Scott, with good picture and DD?

Cheers,
BT

Why would that be? Because someone has a different opinion than yours?

An opinion that many ac/dc fans may share. ac/dc fans that KNOW the new lead singer sucks....big time!

No not at all. I am in shock over the Back in Black not being as good as Highway or Voltage. That is for sure a matter of opinion.I have never heard a fan say that before and was a little taken back for a second. I have no problem with anyones views at all when it comes to music. Have a good Holiday......

I don't understand why Brian is being refered to as the new singer. Brian has been with the band since 1980. I wouldn't refer to him as new.

I was going to leave this one alone, but I was thinking the same exact thing. Brian Johnson has been with AC/DC for over 28 years now, and though Bon Scott was their original driving force(not forgetting ANGUS of course!), Brian's signature sound throughout the entire "Back In Black" album catapulted AC/DC to the East to West coast- USA fame that they have now.(IMHO)
Again, Bon Scott was great in his own right, but the fan base here in the States was predominantly restricted to the more "Die Hard"-Hard Rockers when he led the band.(IMHO) I was in Highschool back then, and I considered myself one of those Die Hards back then. Then they hit us all with Back In Black ,with this new guy named Brian Johnson at the helm. All of a sudden every rocker I knew started to take notice of AC/DC and this incredible power that their lead singer could generate. I remember laughing at a couple of guys I knew back then when they kept going on and on about this crazy acting genius of a guitar player(ANGUS) that AC/DC had on their new album, as if it was new news or something.
IMO, Back In Black is AC/DC's best album hands down. And, Whenever Im in one of the local "gin Mills" around my town, or any other for that matter, someone always ends up playing a few tracks off the BIB album, and that's enough proof for me.
Damn I wish Johnson still sounded that good!:(
Hope I didn't upset anybody with my AC/DC rant. Joe B.

I only referred to him as the new lead singer because he was when Back in Black was released. It was a giant let down for me...and many others.

I am from Canada...and ac/dc was already huge in my circles. So Back in Black didn't really break the band into super stardom for many outside the USA. It was in the States where that Lp lifted them to stardom.

The music on Back in Black is superb....but the vocals get under my skin. And it only gets worse from there. They have never released an LP that even comes close to Back in Black since. Maybe the odd song on some of the Lp's is worth repeated listens....but I like to listen to an Lp all the way through. I can't do that with any post Bon Scott Lp's except Back in Black.

Hope everyone had a great turkey day!

Cheers,
BT
