Sub out not working on Yammy 661

I checked my YPAO settings and everything is in order but my sub stays on standby even when I am watching a movie with tons of LFE (Hulk BD). Just to make sure it wasn't the sub I plugged it to the receiver I have in my office and it works. I am past the 1 year warranty on my Yammy so I am screwed on that part. Is there an easy fix for my sub out or am I just out of luck?

did you check to see if the full range outputs are working:( Is it only with the HD player?

I tried seeing if the sub worked with my PS3, HD DVD, Wii, Roku netflix box with PLIIx, HDTV, and nada. Sub turns on but after 3 mins it goes on standby because it does not receive a signal.

one last thing, did you try a different cable in the office? Not that it happens often, but stressed connections around the tip could cause signal loss

sorry to hear, and good luck

I had a line level subwoofer cable die.

I hope you don't have to replace the receiver.

Are you sure that the LFE output has not got turned down, below the sensitivity of the subs auto on circuit. Go into the speaker menu, and turn up the juice from your LFE output and see what happens.

Do you have a disc with test tones, and an amplified meter? If you do play a low frequency tone at high level and measure the output at the LFE terminal. You should get at least 2 volts AC. If you don't and the sub is turned on and the output is turned up on the receiver, then something is wrong in your receiver.

We get a number of puzzlers. I'm starting to think that every dedicated HT owner should have a a minimum, a high impedance amplified meter, an oscillator and a two channel scope as a minimum, and of course learn how to use them.

Just one more thing. An old geyser like me, who grew up wiring point to point tube amps, has to constantly remind himself, that troubles can be in the software.

If you prove no output, reboot and return to defaults, before taking the unit in for service.
