As the title says I am looking for a good sub around $500, I can nudge the budget up or down just let me know what you have or what you would suggest.

I would like to get ahold of an SVS, HSU, Outlaw, ML, AV123, or any other brand that is really known for making killer subs.

PC12NSD 549USD or PB12NSD 599USD + shipping

http://www.svsound.com/products-sub-cyl-pc12_nsd.cfm
http://www.svsound.com/products-sub-box-pb12nsd.cfm

i would say that the PB12NSD is the better product for just 50 more dollars but if the space or budget is tight ... i'm sure the PC12NSD would not disappoint

but these are brand new though
Thanks Mike.....I was hoping to get a step up from one of those in the form if a used sub....but I will have to have a look see...what about the AV123 15" offering?

HSU and SVS get my vote.
Thanks for your input RT....that sub I picked up from you is actually for my dad.....so I am looking for something for myself FYI. :)

Infinity?......am I missing something? Since when did they make decent products......I remember getting a pair of 6.5's in my car in the 90's and they were just rubbish......they are forever doomed to the same category as Bose for their overpriced consumer driven flair.....But thanks for the input none the less....

I am trying to check the prices on AV123's site and whoever administers their site must be quite a tool as their site was down for several days and when it comes back up it looks like a kindergartner built it.....however it looks like they may have the MFW15 for $499!!!

All very good suggestions here. However, I would like to mention this one.

You would have to up your budget some as the 3.3 is $594. Shipping would be an extra $100. Trust me when I say, that the 3.3 is magnificent! ;);)

Cheers,

Phil

Your missing something.;) Their commercial subs might not be the best out there but comparing Infinity to Bose, come on now.

Thanks Phil.....I actually had my eye on that one and was wondering if it would surpass SVS's offerings at that price point?

I had also had my eye on your listing Matt.....sorry about the Bose reference it was just as far as my experience goes......I mean Klipsch would probably be a similar comparison with their regular Best Buy offerings being absolute rubbish.

Is there a place I could get a listen to the Infinity products that you know of in Milwaukee?

Also with the Ebay thing I wouldn't be able to throw down cash on it until next week so I don't want to hang anyone out to dry in that regard.....I just picked up a new flatscreen which I am loving but it has drained me......that and moving into a new house and all the expenses associated with that....initial installation fees galore....

Oh thanks for clearing that up for me Mike....all I saw was the 499-599 and wasn't sure what that was...I'll have to check out the Ultra as I could pick that up locally ( he's only 2 hours away if I remember correctly)....

Not that I'm aware of. Honestly Infinity wouldn't be on my list of subs in your price range, I just thought your reference was a bit exaggerated.;) Like the others have said SVS and HSU would be where I start my search. The other ID brands such as AV123 and Epik produce great products also but you may be waiting awhile to get them.

Of course DIY is a great option also.

Defending a brand that you don't truly believe in....lol....:)

Well I really wish I could take that HSU off your hands but I don't have the flow untill the end of next week....

If he's that close that would be a deal maker for me. Great sub and you get to avoid shipping cost.

I understand you are looking for used Internet brand subs, but the Infinity I linked is not some throw away car audio junk. And, it is certainly not the cheap big-box store product either.

Even if you don't want it, you owe it to yourself to at least read about it. It is a mutha of a sub. The dang thing is discounted $599.03 off the retail price of $999.00. You only pay $456.37 shipped.

I've got 4 brand new Atlantic Technology 632E. I'll sell you one for $500+ shipping.

I'll post pics if interested.

MSRP on Sub is $1060
Thanks a lot but after reading up on this sub it doesn't seem to have the HT ability that I am looking for. I don't think it would be able to compete with offerings from SVS.

If I don't end up getting one of the subs listed below I will be seriously considering one of those as the aesthetics to me are just beautiful and I'm sure the perfamnce matches that.

Thanks for the info, sorry about the comment, it was posted more out of humor than anything else.

Ok I have narrowed it down to 2....what do you think. This will be primarily a HT setup with some 2 channel audio.

http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?homesubw&1231265105 This one is local so I wouldn't have to worry about shipping.

http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?homesubw&1232650649 Quite a beautiful piece but I am unsure of its performance as I have never heard one, how would this stack up to the SVS?

You must be joking, right? If not, then I would just honestly say that I would take the Infinity posted over that particular Dyn. The SV will eat them both for lunch.
