Which would you guys recommend for HT and gaming? The Epik Knight or the SVS PB12-NSD?

Epik is out of stock on EVERYTHING right now except the 18" Conquest. Check this out: Hsu Research VTF-3 MK3 Satin Black $594.00

This will rock you out! I had the HO version, and these subs are killer, and that color is 15% off right now. I would add that one to my short list.

Side firing 12" woofer, Dual 4" ports, its a good one.

As a former VTF3.3 owner I have to agree. Very good suggestion Gimpy. I have also owned both the SVS PB10-NSD and the PB12-NSD. I must say for ht the PB12-NSD really kicks some serious a$$! ;);) Hence, the PB10-NSD is no slouch either for that matter. Given that the Epik is out of stock, my vote would be the PB12-NSD or the VTF3.3 as I don't think you could go wrong either way. Good luck in your decision. :):)

Thanks Ric. I was already recommending this unit to my brother. I'll let him know. Not sure if he will pull the trigger, but thanks nonetheless.

Will the HSU 3.3 in "max output" mode hit low with authority, say the 20hz range? Will the PB12 do better at 20hz?

Gov, the PB12-NSD had no trouble at all getting down to 20 Hz. This was confirmed using my Rives Test CD II and my RS SPL meter. The Rives tracks do not dip below 20 Hz. As such, I am not exactly sure how low the PB12-NSD actually went in my room. Keep in mind, the VTF3.3 was only run in "Max Output" mode which means it was supposed to reach down to 25 Hz or so. I was able to confirm that once again with the Rives, but the PB12-NSD had noticeably more energy at 20 Hz. In all fairness, the 3.3 had more output above 35-40 Hz or so. Thus, I believe, is why I concluded that the 3.3 was more articulate. FWIW, the OP could NOT go wrong either way. I also believe he should take a closer look at the PB10-NSD as it is no slouch.

Cheers,

Phil
