Right? I don't get it either.

It's complete BS. When OU lost to them and were #1 they got slaughtered in the rankings the following week. But yet Texas loses to a #7 ranked team and go down to #4. It's just total bullshit!

Ok seriously, how the hell did Texas only move down to #4? This is one of the reasons I hate the BCS system.

I'll play devils advocate here? In your opinion where should they be ranked? IMO outside of the Florida Gators, Texas is the best 1 loss team in the nation just consider the teams they've beaten should put your mind at ease.

They belong above O State but not above the rest of the teams on the list. Granted they beat OU but it happened weeks ago. The second the #1 team loses they should be moved down in the ranking far enough so that they don't have a chance to make it to the championship bowl unless every other team in the top 10 loses a game as well. It's very crappy that Texas lost to the #7 team yet if Alabama or Texas Tech lose next week, Texas will most likely move up to #3 and have a second shot at being #1 when there are other teams in the top that are undefeated.

3.imo(Florida) but it will be Texas

Figured I'd give this thread a BUMP!!

Okay my dream season ended yesterday because Florida beat the Tide in the SEC championship game. Later on I watched the Oklahoma Sonners, kill Missouri. As I mentioned eariler the Gators are the best team in the country and they'll prove it in Miami.
PS: I know the Sooners look devastating running up the scores in the BIG 12 but Florida isn't from the Big 12,Pac10 or Big 10, they're from the SEC and they play defence & offence. Now let see the Sooners lone loss came at the hands of Texas, which oddly enough played both as well.

I didn't use that big a font! Heh.. lets face it the Pac10, there is USC and everyone else. IMO USC should've killed UCLA and they only won by 21! USC in all likelihood did enough to play against Penn St and win another Rose Bowl but the BCS is what its all about!!

PS: BTW the Ducks won the Civil War so all is not lost. Although I would've loved to see the Beavers in the Rose Bowl, I'm just tired of USC winning on default.

Perhaps the Ducks and the PAC-10 will get a chance at redemption in your eyes. I'm guessing it's Oregon vs. Oklahoma St. in the Holiday Bowl. Say what you will, with the exception possibly of Oklahoma, there currently isn't a better offense in the nation than Oregon's.

And yeah, I think even USC is tired of seeing USC in the Rose Bowl...even when it was for the BCS title, lol. They should crush Penn St. just because they'll be mad to have been made to play them.

I was a little worried when the Tide came out from half time and stuffed the ball down the Gators throat for more than half of the 3rd quarter. Tim Tebow is a natural leader and he rallied his team to a victory. I'm glad the game was a nail bitter.
If the game would have been blow out, like both teams have been handing out through out the season, it wouldn't have proved what i said earlier. That Alabama, and the Gators are arguably the best 2 teams in the nation.

You have my vote on playoffs too. It really is the only way to keep all the weaker teams with a good record from whining......

All joking aside college football has needed some sort of playoff for a long time.

My guess is your right BUT that doesn't mean they're the better team. The line is used only as tool for wagering. I'd still take the Gators in any playoff format.

I'll wager you're looking at the conference power ratings....and that's just a computer phony-geek number without relevance to matchups and on-field abilities.

I'll predict this...USC has more first round draft choices on it than will even be drafted out of this Florida team.

Florida doesnt have as many seniors playing as USC though. I dont read anything or pay any attention to the stats on the teams. I mostly watch the games and determine how good of a team they are. Im not trying to take anything away from USC, but i dont think they are playing on the same level as the Gators this year. USC definitely deserves a lot of respect. So do a handfull of other teams. These types of conversations are what the playoffs would eleminate

We all agree that playoffs would be an improvement over this silly BCS system.

BTW, I'm just stirring the pot a little here. I know we all have our favorite teams. Being an Oregon Duck fan, I personally hate USC and hope they fall flat on their collective boo-tocks. I'm going to be cheering for the Gators (again) this year.
