I need help positioning the 4 surrounds on my 7.1 system. Attached is the best sketch I could do with Paint of my living room.

I was think for placement one foot in front of couch and 6 inches from wall for side surrounds.

For rear surrounds, behind couch 3 ft and 6ft apart from one another.

Again these are definitive techs.
here is a link to the surround speakers

Link doesn't work.

However, you don't want side surrounds in front of you. Put them at 90 degrees since you get to enjoy rears.

Position rears for best stereo imaging. Temporarily hook them up to front amp channels, play some music, and position.

good luck

Just noticed my file is to large to attach. Room is 11' 6" wide and 19' long. We sit about 9' from the tv and from speakers. there is 2ft on both side of the couch from the wall and 5 feet behind couch to wall. 8 foot tall ceilings. Sorry if this is to confusing.

Ok link is fixed, so put the sides direct to the side of my sitting position? What sucks is with such a narrow room they will be rite above me and 1 1/2' to my side.

That's why receivers have delays and different volumes for each speaker. My rear speakers and right beside me but they don't over power. They will be fine as long as you take time setting everything up.

Ok, just to make sure i've got this right. The side surrounds are ok right next to me, I.E not in front of me or behind me. And the rear should be what 3 ft. behind me and they should be 6ft apart from one another right?

Just want to make sure, as I dont want extra wholes in my ceiling. Oh yeah the tweeter are on a swivel mount.

<<< HTML guy (how to put images in a forum)

Just use an image host like imageshack and they will give you forum codes, Or if you how to code already you can write your own, for forums they look like this.

And oh I forgot, your file extension will end with an image type extension, most common types are .png .jpg .gif. (see code below)

Code:
