Comcast seems to go-up on their charges every month. They think consumers are ignorant.

I spend time on the phone every other month with these idiots. Last month I canceled my service after customer support was unable to reduce my bill to the previous monthly fee. I immediately received a call, and they satisfied my request. They told me, as they do every time, that this fee would be a set price. NOT

So, I called again this month with the same problem. I told them I was not going to pay my bill, and the customer support individual told me that would ruin my credit report. I started to argue, but then decided I have had enough of their BS.

To those who may not know, not paying a cable bill will not effect your credit score what-so-ever.

I have set-up my Dish network appointment, and can't wait for the switch.

FU Comcast.

I am in total agreement Comcast sucks! I have been in the same situation as you being my bill seems to be whatever they feel like charging from month to month. I have had my total bill reduced to 120 a month and this month I get a 160 bill..What!!! I called and threatened to cancel my service and they honered my previous bill. It seems like you have to call their bluff and threaten to cancel service just to get whats be promised to you. Very bad buisness if you ask me. I almost want to go to Millenium cable but they don't have all the features that Crapcast has...

I can't tell you how mad it makes me for someone to threaten the integrity of my credit score. This just p!$$#$ me off to no end.

Not only can they not effect my credit score, a customer service individual should not ever make such a statement.

Eight years ago, I called Comcast to get service with my new house. The cable was on when I moved in, but they shut it off about a month later. When I called, the guy insisted that they had to come into my house to connect the cable. I explained that it already worked on my TV, that they just had to turn it on, and that I didn't want to have to be home to let them in for no reason. Punk kid laughed at me while he chewed his lunch over the phone.

Eight years and counting of over-the-air, and I couldn't be happier.

I ordered the HD Gold package, and can't believe they charged me $50 for the upgrade to the 722. I agreed to it, but am not happy. I hope this is not my first sign of getting reamed again.

I had hdtv and internet and was spending a buck fifty each month, dropped them and went back to dtv. I absoluetly refuse to deal with them on our installs, pia and poor cs. While the truway looks promising, that lack of cs and care causes people to hate them:mad:

Must be nice, nothing would make me happier than to dump Comcast.

But there are two things holding me back.

1) No HD locals on Direct TV or Dishnetwork. This was the main reason I switched from Direct TV to Comcast a few years ago. Both Direct TV and Dish receive the locals OTA and integrate them into the receiver so it is seamless to the user, but I live too far away to receive any HD OTA.

2) I own a Tivo HD DVR and they do not support either satellite provider.:(

I just got rid of Time Warner myself. At least they never inflated their price but their HD feeds were just absolute garbage. So compressed their feed so much that watching any action movie on HBO HD, Showtime HD, or Starz HD really sucked.

I just switched to AT&T u-verse and so far their HD feeds are very good. I have yet to encounter compression and their HD channel selection is growing by the day. They are getting ready to activate all the channels that HBO, Cinemax, Starz, and Showtime have on HD too as well as a lot of regular channels too. Plus my wife loves the DVR streaming feature to the receiver in the bedroom. Do DISH boxes have the same capability?

I would LOVE to switch from Comcast, but I live in a condo, so I don't think I can have a dish. Maybe when we get a house.

I just called AT&T to check out the U-Verse service because the brochure made it sound like it would save us a lot of money, ($59 for cable with HD channels). Then it turned out that for $59 you get an "HD Ready" cable box, but you still have to pay an extra $15 a month for the service. So now their $59 cable goes up to $74. So I checked to see if doing cable, phone and internet with them would save us some money, but it turned out that it would only be about $5 a month less than what we're currently paying. We pay about $20 a month for phone, so the lady tells me that if I upgrage to their $30 a month plan, it will give me a $14 discount on my cable. So let me get this straight, I have to pay $10 to save $4?

Pointless. It seems like you get screwed no matter what you do.

You might want to check into that. I can't remember the law on satellite dishes, but there are laws protecting people's rights to put up over-the-air antennas.

U-Verse has already implemented MB limits. They will likely only affect the worst offenders who are torrenting everything....but still. Comcast has implemented this as well as far as I know. I have to say I also hate Comcast's practices, but I am not a fan of Dish either. When I signed up with Comcast they said they wouldn't raise their rates for xxx period of time. They didn't for a few months, but sure enough it started going up and it has not stopped - it has gone up almost a few bucks every quarter and I am getting tired of it.

The best I ever had was when a sales person was calling with one of those phone SPIMS about expiring car warranty. I told the guy at the other end to take my phone off thier list and never call me again. The guy asked beligently "And what are you going to do if I dont?". I calmly told him that I would file with the phone company and the FCC and track down who he was. he quickly shut-up and hung-up.

Any person that threatens with credit score should be identified and the BBB contacted.

My housing authority is a bunch of Nazis. They fined me for having wood in my carport, yet I see people with BBQ's and bikes all the time.
