Seriously, I have no life.
Heck I don't know the official immigration status of all my aunts. I assume that they are all legal but I don't know for sure.
How come you don't know? Better interrogate them all, under oath:D

Well, to their credit his name isn't even Joe and he isn't a licensed plumber... and that's not the same thing. The Republicans were the first to bring "Joe" up and used him in the debates, since he was mentioned a bunch of times in the debate I don't really find it surprising the media would be curious to who he actually is.

Obama's "aunt" is digging. I mean, I'm trying to think of my aunts name and I can't even come up with it, let alone her ethnicity or legal status. I don't really consider that my fault.
First off his middle name is joe and people sometimes do go buy their middle names especially if they don't care to much for their first name. Second, doing a check on someone is one thing but to try to defame or slander a private citizen because of his views is sickening. Third, Obama wrote about this same aunt in his book and spoke of how close they were so saying he didn't know just doesn't pass the litmus test. Sorry........:(

Obama's sycophants don't care to introduce reason into political discussions. It's a wasted effort.

I'm sorry, I'm very close with a few of my aunts, but something that has NEVER come up in conversation over my 27 years of life is our legal citizenship. I mean that's just ridiculous, when was the last time you asked anyone in your family if they have an SS# or Green Card? This is just a step over the line that I would call fair game.

I understand your point but when was the last time you ran for president. I like to think the person I vote into the highest position in the world at least know his own family. I hate to think that someone who can't keep track of an aunt that he so dearly cared for as he wrote about in his book would have no chance keeping track of much more important things. Oh wait, I take that back he knows where my money is and I guess that is really all he cares about...........

Oh, how I long to be in my late teens or twenties again.
Young and idealistic...back when I thought I knew it all.
Back when I thought only the "Other" political party lied.

If there is one thing we should all agree on is that they all lie and we must be smart enough to pick out the truth, however scarce it may be........:D

What does he actually say? What's the quote from the book that indicates "how close they were"?

I have yet to see anything that indicates they were close, only that they met a couple of times. This is his absent father's half aunt we're talking about here.

Seirously, I've looked for the relevant passages online, but haven't found them. Apparently you have and know the content. Let me know.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Its a last ditch attempt on their part because they know there party is lagging behind going into the election and more than likely are going to lose, time to bring out the kitchen sink.

Obama couldn't even pass a background check to be a state trooper in Mass and the liberals wan't to make him president. I am sure he knew about his aunt just like he knew that the Rev Wright was a racist and Bill was a terrorist. He actually signed the black theology doctrine which states that all white people are the enemy and should be killed.
Ya know, I've read a lot of stuff from both the left and the right. Even the kooky sites and blogs. I've never heard of this state trooper business, nor the black theology stuff. Certainly, if this had even a little merit, it would be painted all over the place, likely by Sarah Palin herself.

These are garbage attacks, tcarcio.

At least when the **** hit's the fan and you all find out what you voted for I will say I voted for John McCain the man who spent more time in support of his country in a prison camp then Obama spent in the senate. At best Obama is a fraud and not worth a plug nickel...........
Yeah, I'm happy and proud to say "I told you so" about dimbulb Bush. I suppose you're still backing that guy. When Obama wins, and when things are better in four years, hopefully you'll have the wherewithall to concede that he wasn't everything that the right made him out to be.

Even my Republican buddy told me that "Clinton did a lot of good things" and that "we'd be better off if we never heard of GW Bush". I'm glad that some people don't have to be blindly partisan at all times.

Any candidate thats says its selfish not to give up your hard earned money is insane?? Many in my social circle are in their mid 50's and up, worked hard all their life to save and make something for their families, and now a candidate whats to take a some of that and redistribute it:confused: Politics are a dirty buisness, but their is one of th two candidates that are trying to implement radical change and that will divide and deystroy this counrty on a couple of fronts.

Politics are spirited, and the debates are also so dont get mad get informed:)

take a some of that and redistribute it:confused:
The tiered tax bracket system is redistributionist by definition. Obama didn't set it up. I've had enough with tax cuts from the top. Hitting someone with a 3% increase for income over $250k isn't going to kill them (it might affect me as well, and I can live with it). Casting a vote for a little bit more money for yourself neglects a view of the big picture. My mother votes generally only on the abortion issue, and I think that is just as short sighted. Just my opinion.

I'm more worried about the voting record of John McCain (90% w/ Bush) and the empty-headed Palin.

Thank you.

ive linked this before....

Sometimes politicians, journalists and others exclaim; "It's just a tax cut for the rich!" and it is just accepted to be fact. But what does that really mean?

Just in case you are not completely clear on this issue, I hope the following will help. Please read it carefully.

Let's put tax cuts in terms everyone can understand. Suppose that every day, ten men go out for dinner and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:
The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that's what they decided to do.

The ten men ate dinner in the restaurant every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. "Since you are all such good customers," he said, "I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily meal by $20."

Dinner for the ten now cost just $80. The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still eat for free. But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his 'fair share?' They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to eat their meal.

So, the restaurant owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so:
The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33% savings).
The seventh now paid $5 instead of $7 (28% savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).
Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to eat for free.

But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings.

"I only got a dollar out of the $20," declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man," but he got $10!"
"Yeah, that's right," exclaimed the fifth man. "I only saved a dollar, too. It's unfair that he got ten times more than me!"
"That's true!!" shouted the seventh man. "Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!"
"Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in unison.
"We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!"
The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn't show up for dinner, so the nine sat down and ate without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start eating overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

According to Snopes.com a version of the above Humorous essay on "how taxes work," started going around the Internet in 2002, and has been attributed incorrectly to several people including Thomas Davies, Professor of Accounting; Dr. David R. Kamerschen, Professor of Economics; William F. Buckley Jr., and Don Dodson.

Although the Author is Unknown, we can surmise that the person must have been "right minded."
We know definitely that it could not have been Democrat!

This example completely ignores the concept of supply and demand. Lets remember that the $100 is likely inflated due to costs flowing downhill from above. Not to mention that investors wouldn't leave the US as there isn't anyplace to go that offers a good return and such protection from the law as we have in this country leaving plenty of wiggle room. This is an interesting example, but ignores so many economic principles. Like I said before, maybe its good if we slow down a bit. Right now we're being told what we need and what to buy through advertising and otherwise. The demand should drive the supply, not the other way around. For example, we think we need shrinks for whatever, but I bet if you go to Ethiopia where people are starving, they aren't in need of shrinks.

There is always a bit of truth in all humor. Enjoy:)

"So instead of cutting taxes with a kitchen knife we'll butter it up with wealth and spread it around like we earned it," the Democratic candidate continued. "It's a patented foreign blend that is guaranteed to help improve my standing in the polls, but it's made with 100% pure American taxpayer sweat, which once again shows how taxes can be patriotic."

When asked to clarify how exactly this plan was going to work, Obama, who is currently ahead in the polls, explained that it was "quite simple: everyone will be contributing according to his abilities and consuming according to his needs, while special observers will be making sure that a worker's contribution does not go above or below the approved list of his abilities. Special distributors will also be making sure that a worker's needs do not exceed the quota based on the availability of the WealthSpread™ formula."

"And, of course, there will also be watchers who will watch these watchers, and the watchers who will watch those watchers, and so on - leading to a full guaranteed employment for everybody."

"What's not to vote for?" Obama finished as he was cheered on by a group of supporters wearing blue pins with the Obama logo and the words "Journalists for Obama."

Sorry but they are true, and if you really looked into it instead of haveing blind faith you would know that. In his book he said he could not turn his back on black theology just like he said he could not turn his back on rev Wright which he did anyway.

Even my Republican buddy told me that "Clinton did a lot of good things" and that "we'd be better off if we never heard of GW Bush". I'm glad that some people don't have to be blindly partisan at all times.
In case you haven't heard Bush is not in the election and I didn't vote for him in either of his terms. I will say I am voteing for McCain this time because Obama is just a liar and a hypocrit with no experience. In case you also are blind to the stock market going crazy it is not only because of greed on wall street but because people are getting out before Obama,if he wins, is raising the capitol gains tax so the Obama effeect is already haveing an effect.

Well, my response noted that I have read a lot of both sides, and I have looked into a lot of this stuff. I specifically did look for the Mass state trooper thing you alluded to, and I found nothing. Are you saying that Barack Obama was trying to become a Mass state trooper? I don't get it.

Rev. Wright is old news. Obama was in the church for some time, but gave up on it when things got too hot. I would imagine that 99% of what went on there was pretty normal. I don't care about Rev. Wright.

In case you haven't heard Bush is not in the election and I didn't vote for him in either of his terms.
Right, but the point is that John McCain's been very aligned with Bush's failed policies. And since you appear to implicitly agree that Bush is no good, you, too, should vote against a continuation of his policies by voting for Barack Obama...

In case you also are blind to the stock market going crazy it is not only because of greed on wall street but because people are getting out before Obama,if he wins, is raising the capitol gains tax so the Obama effeect is already haveing an effect.
Well, that's a stretch at best, and I've not heard that proposed before. In reality, the economy's been on shaky ground for some time, with bloated housing values, corporate greed and people maintaining high credit to buy things they can't afford. You can think what you want, but the reality is not Obama's fault. The investors I know are prepped to ride out such crises and are on board to maintain their holdings. Smart investors are waiting, and that's the same advice given from investors online and on TV.

Sorry, tcarcio, but you're out on the fringe with the "Obama's birth certificate isn't real" crowd. Good luck.

Otto you just have had way to much kool aid and as Davemcc said it is impossible to change your view of the chosen one because even when true you refuse to believe that he doesn't walk on water. But this is America and you have the right to your opinion no matter how slanted to the left it is. Oh and my bad it is the FBI not the state police that he could not pass a background check for, so I have to correct myself something you should try sometime. Now I am ready for some football so have a nice afternoon.........Go Pats.:D
