The other thing that I would recommend is to look at page 56 for the "Troubleshooting" comments on getting no sound. I think that you've done just about everything but check the AUDIO SPLIT options.
Now, I want to talk about something else. You wrote that you get no audio from your Sony receiver, but I think that you then wrote that you also got no audio (using test tones) from a different receiver. Is that the case? You've hooked up two different receivers to your speakers, and you've gotten no sound out of any of them?
Have you ever gotten sound from your speakers? If so, did you make any changes in your system just prior to not getting sound from them?
i will check the AUDIO SPLIT options when i power it back up.
You are correct, I get no audio from either reciever. When I get each one hooked up i get video but no audio. I have never had any of these speakers hooked up before now. The klipschs iv had for awhile but never hooked them up (got them free from work, they were used...same with the sony reciever). The sony speakers im useing as rears I just went and bought a few days ago from best buy so this is the first iv tried to hook them up.
At first I thought maybe the klipsch speakers, or the reciever was bad since i had gotten them used and never used or heard them functioning befor. But i ruled out the reciever being bad when hooked up my 2nd reciever and had the same problem. Still not sure about the klipsch speakers but I should at least be getting sound from my sonys being they are brand new.
thank you for all your help and suggestions up to this point.
EDIT:
with my older reciever hooked up i just tried turning on the tuner and i am getting static to the speakers i have hooked up.
