Ok, I was speaking with another member in reagards to the Behringer 2030p that ive used in a couple of installs, and i asked if he would like to demo a pair and he suggest I start this thread for interest. If anyone would like to hear these, and would be willing to pay for shipping(whatever is the cheapest) Ill purchase an extra pair( and do the mods that chris has outlined--thanks chris) for those that want to hear them. I brought a pair home to demo ( with 2 svs 25-31pluss') and was very impressed and for the price(130pr) a damm good speaker. Please post if interested, and Ill post the link to chris's mods also.. Sorry for the rant im on the road with no sleep.

I'll tell you something you might or might not find amusing: while I do own a pair of B2030P; I have never listened to music on them. I did a full measurement analysis and deducted relative performance and some simple modifications based on testing/analysis - but at no time have I ever hooked up a pair, sat between them and listened to music program. I do plan to use this pair in my workshed though, along with an active crossover and stereo subs plus some acoustical treatments.

Banphan: I don't remember(maybe you did and my memory has failed me?) you ever making any relative comparisons to build or sound quality. Even if just subjective - I would find this entertaining to read.

As for the installs: you used at least 4x B2030Ps, a Behringer DCX2496 and two or more Dayton powered subs in these installs, right? I bet these are some of the best sounding commercial audio background music installs around. :)

I wonder what the 3031P sounds like, with the ribbon tweeter.

If anyone wants to buy and send a pair to me, I'll analyze it fully and provide the measurements on the forum. I am also curious. I'll even pay the return shipping if they so desire.

What about just buying them and then returning them?

You'll get someone to buy them, they are really cheap. I mean, even just using them for computer speakers would make sense... some of these high dollar crappy computer audio systems cost more than these do.

Have a link to a thread with discussion on the mods? Where are they $130? They currently show in stock and $149 from Musician's Friend, and $299 for the active model.

I want some full range 20Hz to 20kHz near field monitors. I can't find anything that meets my needs.

I'm buying a new studio desk from Middle Atlantic. I want some full range monitors to put on the monitor arms. I think it would be trick.

I just don't know if they exist.

Look for transmission line speakers for lower Fr but not 20hz.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I won't be able to find anything.

The trans lines have lower Fr's but even then I need to crossover to a sub for full range... so, then it doesn't really matter.

I want something fairly small too, which further makes my search kind of silly.

Yeah, those are kickass but are still like 2500 USD and out of my budget. Well, I can afford them, but I'm still just a hobbyist producer and make zero money off of it, so I think spending that money on monitors isn't a good idea.

I've had about 10,000 in PA equipment, but, I've made money on every penny of it so it didn't seem as bad.

I'm probably goint to end up going for a BM5 and some sort of subwoofer combo.

I'm going to be purchasing a pair for my computer setup to replace my AudioEngine 2 using a TCA Gizmo to power them and a (TBD) sub.

So you actually might listen to them.
the Behringer B2030P will easily exceed the over-all performance and build quality of most things in the $500-$600 range, much less $250.
Bold statement for having never listened to them. O thats right. Just add a Behringer DCX2496.

Thanks for the Red Chicklet. :D
