B-Stock a good value for those on a budget (ENERGY S10.3)

I'm trying to stretch by audio budget and looking at the ENERGY S10.3 B-stock. Would $170 for this unit be a good value for B-stock? It comes w/ Energy's 90 day warranty and this disclaimer

"B Stock items are products that cannot be sold as new. In one way, or another, they have either been returned by a customer, a dealer, a distributor, a reviewer, our engineering department or any number of scenarios that prohibit us from calling them new. B Stock items are guaranteed to be in perfect working order unless otherwise noted in the description"

That sub had a couple of good reviews and for $170 I cannot think of any better alternatives. I bought an Energy ESW-V8 sub recently and I was impressed enough to buy a second one. If you can get the ESW-V8 or V10 B stock for $170, buy 3 so you can have one each for the front, surround, and surround back channels. Same for the S10.3 if they are as good or better than the ESW-V8 or V10.

I use to own a Mirage S10 and let me just say it is a very good sub. Basically, it is the same as the Energy S10.3. Getting it for only $170 is a very good deal imho. As expected, my vote is to go for it! ;);)

Cheers,

Nice Find...

I may have to jump on this myself as I am waiting for TCA SCAMP to reach production.
And, I hope I can add...if you go to "this stores" home site, you can save $20 -
free shipping;)

All of my audio gear either "B" Stock or Refurbs & couldn't be more pleased:cool:

One more time, at $170, buy 2 or 3 ($510 for 3 is still dirt cheap). It is a 10" sub in a small box so don't expect the same bass you will get from one of those 12" 1200W Paradigm Seismic or any 12-13" SVS subs. With 2 side by side, you still won't get much below 20 Hz (spec say 21 Hz -3dB) but you will get enough volume. We can't hear anything below 20 Hz anyway but apparently some people may enjoy feeling those low frequencies. I do get a few seconds of massage from my PC Ultra occasionally but that's about it.

well, I pulled the trigger today. thanks for the advice. FWIW, these were an ebay find and through Oct, there's 10% off...plus, if you use MS Live cashback, take an add'l 30% off. so it ended up being $170 (inc s/h) less $15 less $45. So, can't go wrong for $110. If it arrives in good condition, I might get another as suggested here.

Way to go dude! Heck, for that price I would get (4) of them if you have the room. That is really one awesome deal if you ask me. Great find! ;);)

The Mirage prestige s10 is the same as the Energy ESW v10.

And by the way, the ESW v10 is better than the s10.3, even though it bottoms out 2 hz higher. It's more expensive though.

just a followup. the subwoofer was shipped (quickly) and arrived in mint/new condition. Boxed well. Cool blue light on the front when powered. I'm slowly building my system so had to test it at a buddy's house. it sounded great, but what do i know...I'm new at this.

little off topic, a different ebay seller has the Energy Take SATs for a BIN of $55 each with a "Make Offer". Even though the MS Live Cashback offer is over (for the time being), I got 30% off using the "make offer". I should have asked for more :(

So, I have L/R/C RBH WM-30, and the Energy S10.3 and four Energy Take surrounds for $550. All I need is an AVR!
