Relaxing Classical Music

Looking for something for the baby, any suggestions? Doesn't even have to be classical.

When we played the DVD back of the ultrasound it had some music in the background and the kid apparently really liked it. My wife said she hasn't ever moved around that much.

I know it sounds weird but my wife and I put headphones on her belly during both pregnacies and our kids listened to Pink Floyd and the Grateful Dead an awful lot as they both seemed to love it according to the wife...

I'm probably going to get stoned to death for this but I don't care for Pink Floyd, never have.:D

Might give this a try.

Henryk Górecki - Symphony of Sorrowful Songs Symphony No. 3

Even if you don't like classical music, both you and your kid will think this is beautiful. Oh, and the recording is absolutely top notch.

Get this. Just get it. Even if you don't like it, your wife will love it. Ok fine, even if she doesn't love it, maybe your baby will. :p

2 left, more on the way. Not cheap. Worth it easy IMO. Its the second work that is particularly good IMO. If you end up liking this a ton, and get more into renaissance vocal works, sticking with the Tallis Scholars is a very smart move. Not all their recordings have top-notch SQ, but many do, and this is definitely one of them.

I'm thinking SLAYER !

No seriously, they make some classical music cds especially for babies.
You can find them most anywhere.

BTW...I played a little Bob Dylan when my wife was pregnant with our two rugrats. :D

Have you considered finding a loving home for your audio gear where music is appreciated? :D

I know, totally useless as a post. Forgive me.

My boy really liked LIVE and MEGADETH and hard rock in general...I guess it was like running a vaccuum cleaner for that white noise affect to simulate being in the womb...

Elgar - Enigma Variations
Any classical piece that is a symphony will have a slower 2nd movement and possibly 3rd movement
Beethoven's stuff (see above)
Dvorak Symphonies (see above)
I like this recording of Gorecki's 3rd symphony

Lots of other stuff out there besides classical...Pink Floyd, Megadeth, Metallica, James Taylor :D
