:confused:Which one should I get? Actual listening room is 8 (h) x 15 (w) x 18 (L); but open to kitchen area
I have gradually build my HT with Panasonic 50" w/ERA D3: front and center with in-ceiling Sonance Symphony S622TR. Receiver is Elite 92TXH
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
Other factors: HSU could do local pickup; SVS compact size.
Listening preference 50/50 in HT and music

Whats the frown for? The Valor plays almost as well as two Pb10 when I demo movies and is alot better with music. Played in the same spot. My friend brought over his Hsu 2.3 and the Valor played Ht better. Not blank statements my opinion and the Valor is in the same price range as the subs mentioned cheaper than a Pb12. Fwiw I play all 3 when watching movies and they blend well especially from 6-7 ft away. For music I only play the Valor.

In my experience, you can choose with confidence from either the Hsu or the SVS. I have no experience with the other ones mentioned.

One note about the Era D3, when I was using my D3 as mains I noticed a substantial resonance in the lower end. I don't know how you have yours set up or how it sounds, but if your receiver allows for individual channel equalization, you may be able to get a more balanced, detailed and clearer sound by giving a couple of dB cut in the 100-150Hz range. It's worth a little experimentation at least. You may be pleasantly surprised at the result.

I'd like to see some measurements to back that statement up. Would like to hear from someone that knows more. I find it hard to believe that with 2--10 inch NSD drivers, and the size of the SVS enclosures.

Don't have any but with a spl meter I can tell how loud it plays. Don't hear any port noise with the Valor in HT. I can tell it plays ht and music better because there is alot more mid range goes just as low.. I don't need to prove anything. I have 2 Pb10 and a Valor. So I know. This is why I told the op to research it because there is ppl with graphs that show how low the Valor goes well under 18hz. I really don't care what he buys just another sub for him to research.

So isn't the area of two 10" driver 157" and the area of one 15" driver 176"? http://www.csgnetwork.com/circlecalc.html The Valor has a bigger enclosure. Not much bigger but bigger. Believe what you want. On another note per Svs two Pb10 equal one Pb12 Plus 12.3 woof. That's only a 12" woof with a much larger enclosure. The pb10 are suppose to be a little louder in the upper frequency's. So I don't see why it's hard to believe a 15" woofer can't do the same or more even when sealed.I did alot of research on the Valor of I would simply bought another Pb10. I wanted more and am limited to the depth of the sub...Otherwise I would simply bought an ultra. Sorry for taking this thread off topic I'm done now. OP do yourself a favor and research all the subs you can before you buy.The ones in your $$ and size range..
