Yes, thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and drop us a line...

We are all very interested in your new ULS-15, and it seems there is just far too little info out there for them so far.... They are beautiful, and I personally feel you guys did a great job on them... Can't wait for more reviews and more pictures of them....

I'm still waiting on the new HB-1 MK2 bookshelf speakers to arrive for Majorloser and myself to audition.

Thanks Josh. So would you say the single ULS has plenty output for your room? I have a similiar sized small bedroom I was thinking about picking one up for down the road. Just looking to get some feedback from the owners.

So what happened when your driver went out? Did it stop all together or emit any strange noises? Go out when playing at high levels?

And how was the replacement process dealing with HSU?
Hey John, the ULS has more than enough output for my room, I have it at a negative 2.0 on my receivers bass management and a little under half way on the sub itself and the thing is still a monster. I was listening to some Shpongle and the sub loves them...LOTS OF BASS!!! There was a part of the song that sounded like a kick drum and I kept rewinding it to listen to that part, it sounded so life like. I could have swore someone was in the room with me with one:D

The only thing I can think of with the woofer was that there was an electrical problem due to the fact that the amp would run super hot. Im guessing the motor in the sub went out it was fine one moment and the next it started clanking everytime the sub would move. I was pushing the sub moderately but I dont think it had to do with the handling power of the driver I think somewhere things just went haywire.

And HSU has the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever delt with. They are professional, curtious and will actually call you back and let you know how things are going. Both times (1st was a FedEx mishap) and then this, I couldnt believe how well I was taken care of.

Pete has spent more than 25 minutes on the phone with me just talking about room acoustics and what would be the best recommendations for sub placement.

HSU gets an A+ all around from me:)

11'L 10'W 8'H- ULF trim helps out big time with the small size of my room.
Hmmm, my new living room is 18x12x8, and the back half does an L into the kitchen, I'm wondering if the ULS-15 is going to be enough to match the HB-1 MK2's powered by the Yamaha RX-V1500??? They're sensitive speakers so should be loud when pushed hard, dunno if the sealed 15 will keep up (the power of the amp in the ULS-15 doesn't hurt though!

I'll have a spot in the front left corner of the room (when looking at it in the main viewing position) with the couch about 2/3rds the way down the room, and the 8 ft wide kitchen opening in the right rear of the room. Should help with sub acoustics methinks...

Ultimately I think you get plenty of sound out of that system, but remember for bass you need to also add in the space for the kitchen. L x W x H + kitchen. Your room isn't that big, I have my F112 in the same size room that is more sealed, but it puts out PLENTY...

Stripes, Warpdrv, mazer, mike c, ml, and all the others, you guys are most kind, and I really can't thank you enough!

As for the question about the horn speakers, they work very very well with the ULS-15 and the other VTF/STF subwoofers.

I have been following this thread as I put together my ULS-15 Quad Drive
(My room is over 8000cf - The 4th arrives tomorrow). I have to say that I really like the ULS-15. I decided on them due to the footprint and flexibility of placement due to my difficult room. I went from Dual SVS subs (Ultra/2 and Plus/2) and while the ULS-15 will not match those subs in SPL one on one, the quality of the bass the ULS-15 puts out is, IMO, superior. I have only three of them in place now and there is no lack of movie slam (even with just a Dual set up).
The ULS-15 also go noticeably deeper. The sound is rounder, fuller and less 'one-notey'.
Te wireless feature is a godsend. I am free to place these little buggers wherever I want. :D I have not noticed and degradation in sound quality wireless vs wired although if my cell phone gets too close the unit will pop a little.
I am very pleased.

I wonder how one of those would sound with a PB13-U? I seriously am considering one....Or possibly an Epik Tower.

If you can only do one get the SVS. Otherwise get a Dual drive ULS unless your room is small. If it's primarily for movies, I wouldn't go less than 2 ULS.

It would be in addition to the Ultra-co located.

WingNut, thanks for stopping by here darlin.... Glad to hear your adding extra units to your room... and its working out so well... I had a feeling you wouldn't be able to get by with just 2.

I have roughly the same size room, and decided to go sealed as well...
I decided on DIY sealed 18's though.... Starting with 2 to see how it plays out, and I still have a couple of 15's to add If I still need more...

That would not be a good combination buddy... porting introduces group delay, which by itself is forgivable, but combine delayed (ported) and non delayed (sealed) bass it's highly likely you're going to end up with less clarity than if you had chosen just one box model.

Subwoofers create sound waves with peaks and nulls. If the subs are identical they will reinforce each other making for much louder bass. When they are not identical the peaks and nulls will not match up. The way the peaks and nulls are misaligned, they will tend to degrade the SQ of the bass.
