Hello everyone... just joined and wanted to introduce myself. I'm a "middle of the road" audiophile. I enjoy the electronics, but with a family and other concerns I don't spend TOO much time (and money) on the system. Much less than I'd like!
I am performing a bit of renovation in my living room and, as such, was able to convince the wife that we needed an updated home theater setup. So, i recently picked up a new Panasonic 720p 50" plasma TV, new Denon A/V amplifier and upscaling DVD player, a new boxed set of Boston Acoustics m100 speakers. Should be fun. I get to install in about 2 1/2 weeks.
By the way, in my basement I have a 65" Sony XBR 1080 rear-projection HD TV, Yamaha A/V amplifier, Toshiba HD DVD player, 300 Disc CD player, and full compliment of Boston Acoustics (actually made in Mass!) Towers and satellites. I am using a USA JBL center channel for that system.
I have DishNetwork, but no HD programming right now. Apparently, in order to get the Red Sox on Dish I need a second Dish that I have to pay for... so I am looking at cable or DirectTV. We'll see.
