That's one of the things that I loved about Sony XBR's, they all came with a replacement bulb in the box. A friend once told me of a website that sells the Sony bulbs at closeout prices now that they are fully discontinued. I'll try to find out the place and let you know if you want to get another bulb.

maybe I should get another just in case......

hey.....back to business......using hdmi in on everything....and out to the tv, will video conversion/upscaling/farjouda chip/ work?...I mean is it necessary with that tv, and using hdmi? If so, I won't need it? Or will it work if say, I use component out from cable box to avr, and hdmi from avr to tv?

As far as the HDMI is concerned IMO if you are using a 1080p source like a bluray player don't worry about the scaler on the receiver. Then as far as upconverting DVDs it would also depend on the player as well.

using my grandson's PS3 for blu rays, OPPO 981 for dvd's....
I guess what i'm gettin at is.....watching cable, I am presuming the video processor in any avr won't do anything with what I have.....make sense?

Sorry to hear that. What's Up Joe
??? nothing..sitting here at work, bored to death
tryin to figure out if I should get a new receiver...been researching this to death the past 3 weeks.
with the economy, and work the way it is ( as I am sure you noticed), not sure what to do. My yamaha 5150 plays flawlessly, I just can't get the new lossless audio on bluray. that is my dilemmna!
