Hey Guys,

I currently have the KEF 2005.2 surround sound system paired with a Denon AVR-987 receiver. I have had them for about a year and thinking about selling them and purchasing the Mirage NANOSAT 5.0 SYSTEM (with sub). The problem is I don't know if I am going to like the smaller center speaker that comes with the Mirage NANOSAT 5.0 SYSTEM. Its basically an a satellite speaker. I was thinking about pairing it with a sound bar (polk, yamaha). Has anyone done this before. IF so what where results. I didn't know if the sound bar would take away from the other speakers. I am trying to achieve a greater sound range. I tried using a Polk CSi25 and it did ok. Any suggestions. I am trying not to spend more then 300 on a sound bar or nice center speaker.

Its ideal for the front 3 speakers to be of the same brand/model for proper timbre matching, also soundbars have multiple speaker connections for LRC surround and surround back. If you were to hook up a sound bar say to 5 or 7 of the outputs on the reciever where would you hook up the nanosats? It would be a recipe for distaster if you hooked up the nano's and the soundbar speakers in the same speaker output. Ohms and sensitivity will most likely be different and be taxing on the recievers amps. Im pretty sure your soundstage would sound erratic. Soundbars are made to function alone.

How big is your room? Nanosats have some drawbacks in frequency response you have set your crossover on the sub really high to make up for thier inability to to reach below 110Hz:eek: That will make the bass from the sub sound very localized and will hurt your soundstage even more. Look for speakers that can at least go a little below 80Hz.

On-wall speakers

If you like the soundbar look but are ready for a real surround sound system, check out some of the on-wall speakers from RBH/EMP and Paradigm. They flank the bottom and sides of your display and you can use a couple bookshelf or satellite speakers for the surround channels.
