I'll retake eletronics courses if you will take a diplomacy and interpersonnel skills couse.
I had some in the AF in the late 60's and still retain more than you did. The basics haven't changed all that much. You apparantly forgot a LOT from when you had those electronic courses.
Hey, I was quite subtle at first. I (nicely) suggested there was a problem with your "curcuit diagram" and suggested you to re-examine your logic hoping you would see the flaw, and I even offered you the possible alibi of it being a joke. Had you looked into what you posted instead of going on the defensive I'm sure you would have seen it. Now, had you simply said "oops... my mistake" or something similar this would not have festered. But you just kept digging your hole deeper and deeper, for all to see.
And, I work with people every day and I try to help them, not force-feed BS down their throats. And I don't like it when they try to do that to me, either.
I reread this thread and reread your posts, also
So did I, and I have nothng about which to feel remorse. Can you honestly say the same? Are you really proud of your contributions in this thread?
We're here to help people, not pump up our ego and post count. I rarely "call out" someone's advice but sometimes, just sometimes, it's so off-the-wall that it begs to be questioned. I tried to be nice and subtle at first, but that got me nowhere. You just kept digging.
I'm sure you're a nice guy and really, really want to help, but at least stick to opinions on gear, or at least admit when you've gotten yourself in over your head on some tech issue instead of trying to BS yourself out of it.
And, yes, there are many people who know more than I do here and I have been wrong on some things, and sometimes you just have to man up and admit it. But, then again, If I don't know enough about what's being discussed, I simply stay out of it. I don't feel a compulsive need to post in every thread. It's quality, not quantity that I strive for.
peace out...
P.S. That USB device does look pretty nifty and would be a great solution if the range is realistic. I look at advertised ranges on wireless devices with a jaundiced eye, particularly when going through walls. Dunno if he wants to go for the $$, though,
