i just bought a used plasma tv, but it dosent have any hdmi inputs. all of my equipment that i would like to hook up to the new tv is currently all connected to my lcd via hdmi.

my current hook up is onkyo 605 - ps3 - hd cable box.

hook up is, tv to receiver via hdmi - ps3 to receiver via hdmi and hd cable box to reciever via hdmi.

if i just get a hdmi/dvi adapter will that carry audio or just video? for all of my stuff?

with the above set up, if i were to switch the regular hdmi wire that is currently going to receiver from old tv, would i be able to just buy a dvi/hdmi adapter and put that to receiver and dvi into new tv? will that run my stuff the same as it was before? or will i have spend some more cash then that, like buying a dvi/hdmi converter?

i think this would be the best set up for what i want, i want the best connections that i could have with the fewest cables, the best i have on the plasma is dvi. (im assuming its the best)

thanks for any help or suggestions

DVI is video only, so no audio is carried over that connection. However, if you are justing sending video from the receiver to the TV, then the suggested adapter will work just fine for you - but you'll need a DVI video cable. You may prefer to do it all with one cable, such as this one from Monoprice (they come in different types and lengths).

Is this for running audio from the receiver to the TV? That's the only connection for which this adapter would be needed.

all of your audio should be taken care of by that sexy 605 of yours :O . the hdmi to dvi adapter will take care of your no hdmi problem.
