I received the Cambridge Audio S30 speakers and set-up my Office Sstem with a older Fisher Studio digital tuner and an older Marantz amp.

The Cambridge Audio speakers are very quality contruction and sound awesome for small speakers.

Here are some pictures:

Good Sound at work now! :)

Looks like a great place to drink and post. :D
No CD player or am I missing something? What city would that be?
Understated elegance would be my 1st impression. :)

Sweeeet! That's a nice office. Oh, yeah...nice gear, too. :) How do you like those speakers?

That's a very neat desk that you've got there. Where's the paper? Where's the coffee? Man, you are organized. FYI, I'm transcribing the contents of the white board to see how much corporate knowledge I can glean and steal. :D Just kidding, of course. I'm not nearly that motivated...

Midcow2,

Nice view! I heard the dimensions are listed incorrectly at the websites that sells the S30. What are the dimensions, driver size and weight of these speakers? How do they compare to some of the small speakers you have heard? Where did you buy them from? I might get three to use as front speakers in my small bedroom system. Thanks.

LOL - still in Hurricane Ike recovery mode. I added a few items back after the picture, but still uncluttered.

These speakers, Cambridge Audio S30s are even better than expected. Very full, bright sound from a bookshelf speaker. They are also a lot heavier than you would expect and very, very quality build. You can even bi-amp the speakers with mid and tweeter separate.

Oh yeah the white board - start with this one an go from there ...

NPR talk radio, huh? Those TLA's run deep. :D

Considering the source material, that is the nicest system ever. :)

I just measured ( rough) they are 8 3/4" high x 9 1/4' deep x 6 1/8' wide. The sepcs say they weigh 7.7 lbs and that is probably correct.

I bought them for $219/ pair with no tax or shipping from Spearit Sound

You can get them in oak or black finish; same price.

I have some Sony SB3000 speakers in the garage. These are a very good inexpensive ($99/pair) bookshelf speaker that I put in my garage to listen too when I work. The Sony speakers are much larger , but do not sound near as good as the Cambridge Audio S30s. I opriginally purchase the SB3000s because they were rated and one of the best low priced speakers. The Cambridge Audio S30s are rated excelent and I can attest they have execeelnt sound!. They S30s might not be as good as my Def Tech 7002 towers but they sound as close as any small speaker I have heard.

I think your idea of three in a small bedroom would work out well.

Good Luck!

Nice view. Wish my office was that nice. Mine looks like a HeathKit Spare Parts room.
