Is DTS finished with DVD? I haven't seen any new DVD's in the last year or 2 with a DTS track. I cant even remember the last DVD that I have wathced that had DTS. It seems like there use to be alot more DVD with DTS.

There were and now there not....oh well it didn't make a bit of difference to me at all.

I know Pan's Labyrinth has a DTS track. Some movies have DTS tracks but curiously don't mention that fact on the packaging. Similarly, my CD of Dave Brubeck's Time out doesn't say anywhere that it is an HDCD but it is.

I don't think DTS is gone, even for SD-DVDs. I have a bunch that have DTD-ES under the setup or languages menu.

My guess is that most studios have cut DTS soundtracks out to save money - kind of like when they stopped giving you the piece of paper in the case that gave you the chapter titles. Or how many discs just have the movie title in that generic, colorless font now instead of a colorful, unique label.

Since so few of us care about sound quality, it isn't a surprise. Just be glad you still get Dolby Digital :D.

However, a title I saw recently with DTS was Live Free or Die Hard.

Hmmm, maybe you might want to read the primary name of this forum again. Pretty much everyone on here is interested in sound quality.

If you want dts, get Blu-ray, since that is where all the dts tracks went :)

I think raquetman was referring to consumers in general when he used "us," not Audioholics in particular. Just my impression. :)

Thanks, Adam. Your impression was correct.

I don't think someone would post on this forum nearly 800 times (me) if they didn't care about sound quality, but maybe I'm wrong.
