So the new MSRP's continue to come down, despite all the "industry analysts" assurances that pricing would skyrocket, the sky will fall and Blu-ray will be dead by the end of the year, conveniently ignoring the 350% sales increase from this time last year.

Memorex has just announced the BonusView compatible Memorex MVBD-2510 Blu-ray Disc player.

It will feature TrueHD decoding, dts-ma bitstreaming, 1080p24 and 1080p60 support as well as 5.1 analog outputs.

This player will hit the shelves in November.

Awesome, the more competition the better! Drives prices down and speeds up R&D.

Wow... a state of the art 2007 player... It one ups the Funai and Samsung players with multichannel anlog outs (and Dolby TrueHD on the Funai).

However, any player with multichannel analog outputs these days IMHO should decode everything internally. (That is a shot to Denon and Marantz as well!) Otherwise, it's just making noise as multichannel PCM on Blu is going away...

Thanks for the info, Doby!

If I am not mistake, I believe it is a repackaged Funai player...I'd have to look for the article, but I know Funai was going to provide the internals to a bunch of other companies as a base for their own units.

What timeline do they have in mind for its release for us Canadians. :)
I don't look - living in St. Catharines and going over the border every summer for DMB shows, I've come to have a number of friends, particularly in Buffalo, so I buy all my electronics over there.

:)

Given the exchange rate, it's hard to pass up. Of my 125 Blu-ray's I think I've bought maybe 5 of them in Canada. My DVD-Audio and SACD collection has seen similar ratio's.

Ah.. thats how you manage to buy your BRD's from Amazon for so cheap. The Canadian version is a joke:).

You can buy them from deepdiscount.com and amazon.com for cheap also except obvously we Canadians do not get free shipping. The saving in tax could offset the shipping charges though. You are right about the Canadian version (amazon.ca) being a joke. I have no idea why it even exists.

It's definitely not. It's more than one manufacturer, but I'm not at liberty to say whom at the moment. Funai isn't involved though.
