With the help of many people on this forum and after a good amount of research, I am now the proud owner of a Pioneer Elite VSX-92TXH.

I went to BB Magnolia, and it was on clearance for 899. So I asked if they could help out with the price since it was the display. They said they would give me 10%. When the rang it up, it was actually 799, so they still gave me 10% for a total of 720 before tax.

I'm pretty pleased because the lowest I could find it online was 750 before shipping. Thanks to everyone for your help and expertise!!!:)

Note: They had the 01, which I was debating on getting, but they wouldnt budge much off the 850 they were listing. I'm sure I could have gotten them to match the 750 listed on the Pioneer site, but I felt 720 for the 92 was a great deal!

Thanks! I know most say don't get the extra warranty, but I felt like I needed to for this one because it was the display model and there is no telling how long they leave it on all day and I'm sure it's been there for several months. I still get covered by the Pioneer warranty, but I'll get 2 more years after that just in case.

Great buy. You should be very happy with that receiver. Now go rent a movie and enjoy.:)

Like you said, probably a good call on getting that extended warranty. Plus, if BB still has the same policy as they used to, then they'll swap out a defective unit for the current year's comparable model if your receiver goes bad. At least, I think that they used to do that.

How big is the volume display on that thing?

Really, I need to know.

Yeah, they said if they can repair it, they will do it at your home. If they can't, they replace it with a similar new unit, which I think would be the 03. But I'm happy with what I've got. I can't wait to hook it up.

Since it was the display, there was no manual, but I did get the remote and the guy is going to contact his dealer to try to get me the iPod connector and the correct speaker set-up mic. He gave me a Denon one in the mean time.

Greg, I was reading about your volume display issue on your new 3800, and the volume display on this one is big. It is right in the middle when you are going up and down. And I think when it is sitting idle, it is shown in the top right of the display.

I see that you changed your signature already - excellent.

In case you hadn't thought of it, you can get the manual straight from Pioneer's website. Here is the direct link to the PDF file.

Thanks man.

Do you know if the 12v triggers can be controlled?

I really have no idea. I know what 12V triggers are used for, but I don't know how they work on this receiver. Adam provided the link to the manual above. It may say there how they are controlled.

I think what he is saying is that it is small and at the right upper corner when you are not adjusting it but when you turn it up or down, it moves to the center and becomes large.
Yep, that's right.
