What a sub! I've owned a Big Hsu HO Turbo, so I I know their sound quality, and the surround on that 15 looks like serious business! Had I known these were coming out a few months after I bought my Ultra I would have waited on the ULS-15. What a finish! That sub, minus the fedex touchs was purtty!

Hope the new one comes soon, and in perfect shape.

That is a good looking sub, sorry about the damage.

The first time my credenza was delivered, it was nailed right to the skid, through the top two shelves.

Thanks for the pics Stripes... Its a beautiful sub (ahh kinda)....

I love the clean clear sound of a Sealed Sub... they are amazing...
Not that a exceptional driver in a well constructed ported enclosure isn't as good, (so don't climb on my back guys) I just haven't gotten the opportunity to have a few of them in my house...

Oh man stripes, that sub is beautiful! Just wished it arrived intact. I am sure Hsu will take care of you. ;);) Thanks for posting some pics and being a good sport. It is most helpful.

Cheers,

Phil

Great looking sub Even with the shipping idiots screw up. HSU will most likely take care of the issues......

Is the grille attached with magnets and something under the veneer? How snugly is it held on?

Yes the grill is magnetic, as far as how its held on there were a few times when the bass hit low and hard enough it flew off:eek:.... No Im just kidding the grille is held on very tight and snug and has no rattles or any sort of vibration.:D

It is an awesome sub, I wish that I would have had more time with it, I really didnt get to do any fine tuning or proper placement with it. But what I did hear was truly special, at least to me. Im sure there are better ones out there but this is the best sub I have ever heard. The extension of the woofer was amazing and never did I hear any distortion. When all is done I will write more about it. I still need to set up my GIK 244's and Tri-Traps, Im sure that will inpact the sound as well. Hopefully next week I'll be getting my new ULS and I can start over...

Don't let sheep read this, he crawled up my butt when I mentioned sealed subs being tighter, but what else is sheep good for except one line snide remarks anyways.

What does the driver itself look like? Have you removed it from the enclosure? Does it use any trick enhancements for increased linearity? Any special design? Is it an XBL^2 enhanced woofer?

Stripes.... Update...?

So whats the word..... how are they handling the replacement...?

Do you get to keep the sub until you get the new one..? SVS does that, its kind of nice if the unit is operational...

Also, if its not too much trouble, could you possibly take a picture of the inside of the grill... I would like to see how they constructed it.... Thank you...

Yes I just received my new ULS yesterday, it looks fantastic! The way Hsu works is I had to get the 1st unit picked up before they would send another one out. This one I opted to get the one without gloss over it and I like it alot better that way. It matches my Era's alot better.

Maybe one of these days I might take the woofer out but for the time being Im going to leave it in the box, it would be kind of a pain to get out. I'll talk to Pete and see if he can post some pictures of the driver I know a lot of people here are interested.
