So, I have been content with my system for about 3 months, which means, since there is nothing wrong with it, it is time to screw around with the settings..
I noticed my oppo 980 was set to output RGB 4:4:4. I had calibrated my tv using the settings given by C-net as a start.

I always found it interesting, that Audioholics own pro-review of the A750 said no adjustment needed to be made. Hmmmm.
So for grins, I set my Oppo to YCC 4:4:4. Look kinda washed out and not so hot, I was getting ready to set it back...then I though, "Well, let's really break this."
So on my Sammy, I reset to the default settings... BAM! The color almost popped off the screen. It looked awesome (to be clear it was not quite default, I turned off 120hz (hate that for anything but Pixar movies) and turned on Film Mode) I still need to tweak it as the colors are slightly more saturated than I would like and there is slight crushing of the blacks. But I would say overall to picture is much richer.
So is it the YCC vs RGB or just that I should have left the defaults all along? (That said, switching to RGB now doesn't look quite as 'rich', but that could be subjective)
On another note, I send a 480i signal to the Sammy over HDMI, it does a much better job at upscaling/deinterlacing than the 980. Anyone know how it would compare to the 983?
